-The Do's-
~Make a thread in the plot discussion subforum first~
It's pretty much traditional at this point. A thread should be made in the plot discussion subforum first and foremost. This thread is for individuals to post OOC things (aka ''Out of Character") such as chatter regarding the RP, or sign up sheets and of course, discussing the plot of the role play itself.
~Add rules to your OOC Thread~
Rules are necessary for any RP to have any form of structure. Said rules solely depend on you, the role play creator. Remember an RP is like a child, you must take good care of it, otherwise it could fall apart and become a disaster.
~Check for other similar RPs before making your own~
It's common that others may already have thought of the same idea as yourself. So it's good to check and see what other active RPs are doing for their own ideas. Perhaps someone else may have thought of the same idea as yourself, already.
~Use spoilers for 'inappropriate' posts~
One of the pretty much 'absolute' rules that applies to any RP, regardless of whose RP it is. Remember, not everyone, wants to see if someone is getting their intestines torn out of their body, or some character is 'gettin' it on' with some other character.
~Imagination is key to success~
You've probably seen that there have been countless role plays made up here. We encourage imagination when creating an RP. It's not 'mandatory' but imagination and something original DOES help for a successful RP.
~Make it fun~
Role Plays are meant to be fun, not feel like someone's 'job' or 'workspace'. Remember it's a fun activity for others to enjoy, including yourself, so relax and enjoy it.
-The Don't's-
~Double Posting~
We really don't want to see this here or anywhere else. The exception is if you, yourself are making an RP, and need an extra slot to store other RP information regarding the RP. (Or to revive or bump a dead RP.)
~Make your RP title the same as your OOC title~
It gets confusing, not just for moderators that lurk and watch over the subforum, but for others that may want to partake, or others even apart of the RP. So please try and keep the OOC and the actual RP's name titles different. But at the very least keep them similar so one can tell it's the OOC or RP for -insert RP here-. A good way to do this is to add (OOC) or something along the lines infront of the Plot Discussion thread's title.
~Role Play in another language~
This is an english community, and we understand if some of you aren't particularly good at english and what not. But this place is an english community, so please at the very least use the English language to post in role plays. (This applies to Role Play titles as well.) Not many understand other languages, so it is much more helpful if you use english over moonrunes, french, spanish, or whatever other language you would like to use. If you would like to speak in your own first language, you can do so in the "Speak in your own language" thread that can be located within the General Discussion. Or go do so in the BL(Where anything goes.)
~Join an RP then never post~
This rule honestly varies depending on exceptions such as (srs bsns club, where you can just come and go as you please), but for the most part, most users like an active role play, and don't enjoy being dragged down by someone whom only posts once then never again. So please, if you do join an RP, please make sure to be positive you're going to be an active part of it.
~Make the actual RP then OOC after the actual RP~
This is rather...confusing for most individuals and makes the RP rather cluttered. It's best if you just make the OOC before the RP, to help keep things clean and neat. (Exceptions to this are 1x1 threads where the character sheets normally are placed within the Op to help readers know a little more about the characters...)
~Post in a Role Play unless you have joined
We know everyone gets excited to jump into an RP at times. But please note that many RPs do not appreciate people just randomly joining without even making a character and submitting it in the OOC of the RP. Please if you want to join an RP, go to the OOC of the thread first, they're all located within this subforum. If you're having trouble finding an OOC for an RP, please contact the original poster of the RP through PMs or some other means, so long as it's not within the actual RP.
~Spam within the RPs or OOCs
We know that the OOC is indeed for out of character chatter, but we do not want to see random, spam like posts within it (Nor the RPs). Things like "Hi guys, how is your day?" should not be posted in these threads, please go use the chit chat thread within the BL if you would like to randomly chatter like that.
~Meta-Gaming...
Obvious. Don't go having your character know something that was only said in the OOC. No one likes a smart ass, so just go with the plot normally like everyone else. This one is a given like god moding, do it and the consequences may result in getting your ass kicked out of the story. Depending on the Rp master that is.
Suggestions and feedback are welcomed, and as said before, moderators feel free to add/remove/alter anything you see fit.
