copy+paste:

The Exit Tunes Presents Vocalonexus feat. Hatsune Miku
compilation album sold 31,000 copies to top Oricon's album sales chart
for the January 17-23 week. It is the second album with vocals created
by voice synthesis software to rank #1, after last May's Exit Tunes Presents Vocalgenesis feat. Hatsune Miku. That earlier album sold 23,000 copies in its first week and eventually sold 86,000 copies.

The CD features 13 tracks by Hachi, Onyū P, SCL Project (natsu P), and
other musicians who used synthesized Vocaloid voices such as Hatsune
Miku, Gumi (based on Megumi Nakajima's
voice), Kagamine Rin, and Megurine Luka. The video for the first track,
Gumi's Matryosha, was played over 2.5 million times on video-sharing
sites.

This is pretty big news! I'm glad Exit Tunes was finally able to repeat the success of Vocalogenesis.

At last. I love seeing these albums top the charts.

But does anyone have the list of the sales chart? (/curious as to who the album defeated)

^ I want to know that too. I'm trying to figure it out but I don't know my way around Oricon's site.
Edit: found the daily ranking that it topped http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/ja/d/1/
And here's the ranking for the most recent ranking, but it's not on there: http://www.oricon.co.jp/rank/ja/w/
I'm very confused.

It's kind of awesome for me since I preordered one of those 31,000 copies ; v; So excited for it to arrive.
And congratulations to EXIT TUNES for another overwhelmingly successful compilation album! (> u<)/

The CD features 13 tracks by Hachi, Onyū P, SCL Project (natsu P), and

13 tracks? Where did 6 (actually 7) other tracks has gone? :P

I saw this coming ever since EXIT TUNES reveal the tracklists. It's filled with earworms (namely Matryoshka, Ie ni Kaeru)ry, and Heart Sutra), the other tracks are pretty high quality, as well.

And.... it feature some of my fave producers~

The forum replies to that remind me some of the long leaps this software has to go. At first there handful of replies were "oh its nothing special" and "look how Japan is weak in their music industray to let a stupid piece of software top its charts..." sort of replies. It mellowed out a little as people looking at the bright side came along. Then as I read on, *sigh*, they remind me how Gumi only got a look in because she was on the album.

Oh wells, back to the drawing board. -_-'
Youtube poster 1; what does the [/] do?

Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.

Yeah, there were several errors in the original article. Way to fail, ANN.

Anyway, I liked Vocalogenesis a lot better but this album is good too. I'm glad it did so well.

This is kind of random, but I just found this awesome game on Vocalonexus's site: http://www.vocalonexus.com/game.html
It's Bejeweled except with Vocaloid heads~ The more you level up, the more characters you get to see. At first it's just the 5 girls but then you get to see Kaito, Gakupo, and then Len. I still haven't been able to get to the Len stage yet. Actually, I'm not sure if they even have a Len stage, but I'm hoping so.

Hehee, I saw your comment on there, you corrected THEM and they decided to throw it back at you.

Oh well, you tried right?

Matyroshka is hard to spell ^^;

So, why is this in the new CD section now? Can we get an explanation here, mods? This isn't a new CD and it's a pretty big deal. I think this definitely belongs in the main section.

It's an album. Anything regarding albums, CDs, etc, etc belongs in the "New CDs" subforum (and please don't go "Well this is bad naming for a subforum" we've already had it named once(Upon user request at that).)

The sticky states that it's for use for anything regarding music, doujin things, albums, etc, etc.

So no, it doesn't need to be in the main section that is why I moved it.
