Miku ran downstairs and into the living room with a huge smile on her face.
"Everyone, Everyone! Look" she yelled out holding up a magazine called 'All Green'. "There is a contest being held to find the most earth friendly house. I thought maybe we could enter. The deadline is next week!"
"Whats the prize?" Rin asked.
"Well, the winner will be featured on the front cover of this magazine and have a whole article written about how they are helping the planet!"
Meiko shrugged. "Why not? I'm in."
"Me too," Kaito chimed in. Luka nodded her head towards Miku.
"Count us in to help out too," Rin volunteered raising her and Len's hands.
"Yea," Len simply agreed.
Miku clapped her hands cheerfully "Yay! Lets get started then! There is alot of stuff we're going to need-,"
"I'll go get the car keys," Meiko sighed not too happy about this costing her money. As she was getting up, Miku started shaking her head.
"It would be better if we walked or rode bicycles! Your car isn't very earth friendly."
"Point taken, well, we still have a couple of bikes down in the garage. Rin, Len? You guys go upstairs and get all the helmets and such out of the storage room. Kaito, help me out." Meiko motioned the blue haired man to follow. He quickly got up and chased after her.
"I can help organize the list of things we need," Luka volunteered. Miku squealed in delight and they made their way into the kitchen. Rin took Len's hand and went up the stairs hurriedly.
"This is bad!" Rin muttered once out of ear shot of everybody.
"Why?" Len asked while walking over to the storage closest.
"This is obviously a ploy by Miku to gain world domination!"
"I thought that was your thing," Len replied flatly. He could see a box labeled 'bike' way at the top. It was a bit too high for him to reach. He sighed turning to Rin “help?”
“Exactly! We’ll need to stop her.” Rin continued.
“How? By polluting? It’s a contest for being eco-friendly.”
“Try thinking outside of the box!”
“Right now I’m trying to reach that one.” Len pointed upwards.
“I see I’m on my own with this.” Rin sighed and walked over to Len. “lift me up.”
Len bent down as she sat on his shoulders, the hoisted her up. Rin snatched up the box with ease.
“So what are you planning on doing to thwart the contest?” he asked while putting her down.
“You’ll see!” Rin sang skipping off with a few helmets.
“I’m not going to litter or anything, just so you know!” Len called after her carrying the rest of the gear.

On the bike ride back home, everyone was starting to become really excited about the contest.
“I think growing our own vegetables would be fun. Our backyard is big enough,” Meiko suggested randomly.
“We could grow oranges!” Rin cheered holding onto Len. There had not been enough bikes for everyone so she decided to share with Len.
“That’s a fruit…I guess we could try growing fruits too.”
“And bananas?” Len added in hopefully.
“Actually, are bananas fruits or vegetables?” Rin asked him.
“Not sure…” Len answered sheepishly. Kaito stayed quiet while Meiko shrugged.
“Luka, do you know?” Miku asked also unknowing of the answer.
“Go Google it,” Luka answered monotone.
“I should’ve seen that coming!” Miku giggled.
“Ok, then its pretty much settled on a garden. We’ll need to level the ground,” Meiko stated.
“Ah, our road roller can do that!” Rin volunteered.
“The road roller…” Miku started sounding worried.
Rin cocked an eyebrow. “What of it?”
“Aren’t road rollers…not very earth friendly?”
“Are you trying to suggest we get rid of the road roller?”
Meiko, Luka, and Kaito all looked at Miku hoping she would choose her next words wisely. Very wisely.
“Well, um, uh…,” Miku’s voice started trembling. “It’s just that, it could knock some points off our score?”
“Oh, I’m about to knock some scores off somebody’s faaaaaccccceee!” Rin screeched as Len started pedaling the bike at a break neck speed to avoid possible violence. Miku braked her bike and just stared after them speechless. The other three also stopped alongside Miku.
“I’m in trouble!” she pouted.

“Who does she think she is?! Now I know she’s definitely up to no good. The road roller is our first line of defense. She takes that away from us and we’re sitting ducks!” Rin raged while Len listened. He decided not to say anything, least it add fuel to the fire. “We can not, and I mean can not, let Miku win that contest and get on the front cover! There are so many ways I could go about this-,” she stopped upon hearing a soft knock on the door. “If you have green hair, stay out!”
“Technically it’s Teal, a sort of bluish green,” Miku giggled nervously with both arms behind her back. Rin wasn’t amused but allowed Miku in. “Rin, I am so sorry for making you upset. I would never want you to get rid of your road roller. I can see it’s very important to you. I-I also made you a cupcake. Even drew a little road roller on it!” She held out two plates. “I also made one for you Len, incase I upset you too.”
“You’re forgiven!” Len said happily accepting the pastry and wasting no time in eating. Rin stared at her cupcake for a few before finally taking it. Miku waited nervously, watching as Rin took a small bite.
“You’re off the hook, for now,” Rin spoke up.
“I hope you’ll still help with everything?” Miku smiled.
“Of course! ” Rin nodded. Len looked her suspiciously.
“I’m so glad! Well, I’ll leave you two alone now! Night night!”
As soon as Miku waved and closed the door after herself, Rin started grinning. She turned to Len.
“Let’s get some rest because we are going to have a very busy week!”

The contest deadline had finally come and Miku checked the magazine’s website constantly to see if they had made it to the finals. Upon seeing they had, she was ecstatic. Two days later, it was the morning of the day the judges arrived to check out the house first hand.
“Everyone downstairs yet?” Meiko asked coming out of the kitchen alongside Kaito.
“I am now!” Rin yelled out wearing a big brown overcoat. “Len wont be joining us, I asked him to take the road roller for a spin until long after the judges leave. Just in case.”
“You-you!” Miku smiled widely. “You didn’t have to do that!”
“But I felt I did,” Rin replied a bit melodramatically.
“Because of that…Rin…would you like to be on the cover if we win?”
“What!” Rin gasped. “This was all your idea and-heck, if you insist who am I to argue?” She threw off the coat to show she was wearing a beautiful yellow dress with dark green trim. Almost as if on cue, the doorbell rang. “I’ll get it!” Rin squealed happily running off to the front door.
Once Rin was completely out of ear shot, Luka walked over to Miku. “You do realize what just happened…right?”
“Ah…. ”
____________
“Wow, I can’t believe we won and you got the front cover,” Len said watching Rin hang up said magazine cover on her bedroom wall.
“Yes, go green with the Kagamines! Has a nice ring doesn’t it?” Rin giggled. “One battle won but we still have a long way to go! Its time to plan our next move!”
Len could only imagine what that could possibly be.
