Questions @ Vocaloid 3

Is it alright if we ask questions now?
I liked to know more about the Vocaloid 2 to Vocaloid 3 transfer ablities and if Vocaloid 1 voicebanks are going to be left behind. veryone seems uncertain about Vocaloid 1.
Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.

My guess would be that V1 is not compatible with V3, hence Meiko's and Kaito's upgrades to V2 coming out (possibly) the same year as V3. I would very much like to be wrong about that though.
If I'm not, might I suggest again that Leon, Lola, and Miriam be upgraded to V2 if it's possible to do so?

It's correct that V1 will not be compatible with V3.
So the only way that Leon, Lola and Miriam could be used in V3, would be if Zero-G 'upgraded them to V2 (or even better V3).

Even if all it does is move the samples across to the new engine, backwards compactiablity is always Vocaloids biggest demand. We love some of the voices, we still want to use them. I doon't care myself if the results are shabby, I can work around that since I have more experience with Vocaloid then I first worked with Lola. Plus it earns Zero-G and PowerFX that little bit extra money if we can do that. :-)
Please could you speak to both companies, if they not sure on the demand, the fans could always try and arouse interest if PowerFX and Zero-G are fine with that.
even if its just "get X amount of signatures and we'll do it" or something, if the fans can at ;east have a goal to work to they'll work to get there to get to it. Or even if "Vocaloid X sells X units". Anything will be fine! :-D

And is the recording process different for V3 vs V2 and if so, does that also effect the final quality?

Yes it's possible that they might do that, especially if there's a demand.
I don't know how much work there is involved, which will be a factor in whether they'll do it or not.

It's a bit early to say if a V2 will improve in V3. I haven't heard a 'V2 conversion' yet, but in theory it should improve.
The recording process is different for V3 and that will definitely effect the final quality, we'll have to wait and see by how much though.

So if we start rallying support now, in theory... Even if its just for a conversion...
I've got some food for thought, excuse me I've got some planning to do to see if I can start getting some demand up. ;-)
Edit:
Also, Anders, just a note the 3 that would focus on right now is Lola, Leon and Miriam. The fans have become eager due to the Kaito and Meiko Append confirmations already. Due to their age, they offer up the biggest area of improve for expansion because the engine of the Vocaloid 1 series gives a wicked kick to their vocals which l;ets them down.
Outside fo those 3, there has always been demand for a better version of Sonika anyway...
The rest of the Engloids are on lower demand in comparison.

Anyways, I'm on board for the V1 compatible with V3 thing, or at the very least a LEON/LOLA/MIRIAM upgrade. I happen to really like LOLA, LEON, & MIRIAM and feel that they are some of the most unique voices in the VOCALOID world; however, I also can't help but feel that they are limited by being confined to the V1 engine only. If they were to be upgraded or given compatibility in V3, I truly believe that they would shine, but at the very least it would give a new side to their voices.
Aaaaaaand, the all important question ( at least for me), will V3 have more than one undo?

This has been confirmed.
Another question: Crypton and Internet Co. have intimated that they will enable customers to convert their V2s to V3 for free. Will PowerFX's and Zero-G's Vocaloids be able to convert to V3s so we can use them with the new engine, and if so, will that be free or will we be charged for it?
Also, I would love for the V1s to be upgraded. I love the sounds of Leon's, Lola's, and Miriam's voices. I'd be so hyped to see what they would sound like in V2.

Apart from V3 native voicebanks being VCV/continuous/triphone (or whatever the most suitable term), do you know what will differ from V2 native VB's in terms of the recording process? How much of all these improvements we've heard about come from the synthesis engine and the voicebanks themselves?

Unlimited undo/redo, although they haven't said if you still can do it after having saved the VSQ, closed and reopened it (some DAW's dont allow that).

For that matter I believe YAMAHA stated that the Vocaloid3 editor will only be buyable at VocaloidStore. If that's the case it's pretty obvious that they are going to ship internationally.
