I'm not the only one who found her annoying!? =D This thrills me.
But yeah. I really enjoyed the series. Anaru is my freakin' clone and I love her with a passion because I relate to her so well. And we're both level-headed Capricorns. ;D
As for Menma though...serious love hate relationship. She was cute, but sometimes she was just too cute. She didn't have enough flaws for me to like her as a character. I really couldn't take her seriously most of the time. That and there were times where I just wanted her to shut up. That and I liked her relationship with Jinta as more of a brother sister one. I think they'd make a horrible couple. She doesn't have the emotional capacity or maturity to have an adult relationship with him. At all.
I came up with a theory for this too...

I think it was because I hated seeing him suffer so much. But, I adore Yukiatsu with Tsuruko as well. Her and that hair clip is too cute. <3
So I was more happy at the ending.

And I didn't cry too much. I mostly cried with Anaru cried just because I relate with her. And I teared up a bit while everyloid read their notes. That's really it though.

Anaru's my favorite character in the series, don't particularly like Menma, found her rather boring (though I am curious about what her muffins taste like xD). I wish people would draw more fanarts of the other characters and not just Menma nearly all the time :\

The series was okay, I started watching it last week and finished it in the same week.
Some stuff in the series just bugged me alot, like Menma's ability to write and not doing it right from the start, thus making Jinta look like some crazy lunatic when he tried to explain that he could see/hear Menma. Then Anoru's attitude towards Menma's death, by saying ''At first I was sad that Menma was gone, but I was happy cause Jinta would start looking at me and we will start getting closer.'' is something that goes beyond me, it is really stupid to think or say such thing and expecting that to happen.
Probably the only character that I liked in this series was Popo, he a bro. Probably the true mastermind behind the whole ''Getting together, help Menma go to heaven'' project.
with that said, I have to say the series is quite good, not the best there is, but it's worth watching it. You may probably cry at some points, but if you know how the story goes, then you won't even drop a tear in the entire series.

And it's a shame that the anime didn't really give Poppo much attention. D:
Yeah, a lot of the fanart oversexualizes Anaru, it's really frustrating. :\ She's already pretty, no need for artists to only focus on her chest.
I always laugh at that part in the anime where Jinta was trying to defend Anaru but he ended up saying something about how she had a "love hotel face"...

Finished this series a while ago, but didn't get around to posting about it until now.
The anime itself was alright, but I completely and utterly adored Anaru. <33
As said up above, she, for me, was the most relatable character. I loved her so much.
I don't see why everyone's getting so worked up about it though. I didn't shed a single tear throughout the entire series, although I did get misty-eyed during the parts where Anaru was crying, especially at the end when she and Tsuruko were walking, and she was saying "You have no idea what it's like having the one you love not even look at you!" Or whatever.
I was just like "BBY NO don't cry let me hold you ;-;"
I have conflicting feelings about her and Jinta. On one hand they're like, my OTP, but on the other hand I feel like she's too good for him. Iuno.
Also I'm neutral on Menma. The only thing I didn't like about her was the fact that she was blowing holes in my Jinta/Anaru ship.

I'll admit, I cried sosososo hard on the last episode
It was so sad omfg, but one of the most beautiful animes I have seen.
I agree with the whole AnaruXJintan thing. I wanted them to be together so badly, but then again, him and Menma too tho</3
I couldn't decide which I wanted to be together more
