Here are some general guidelines and things to know about the News Forum.
Rules and Posting
1. All rules of the forum apply here too. If it's not allowed on VO, it's not allowed here.
2. Do not necro old or dead news threads. If the conversational flow has died down without any news for a couple weeks and is revived or bumped again without news to support your post the posts will be deleted. If it is passed a month, the thread will be locked and only be reopened if there is new news.
3. After a Vocaloid or a main/popular Vocaloid related product with a news related thread has been released; if there is no new information after a week, the thread shall be locked and only re-opened if a user requires to post new news within it again.
Making News Threads
1. Make sure the news is relatively new. This means within a week of the news being released or the event occurring. (Of course, exceptions can be made.)
2. Do not create news threads for news that already has its own thread unless a moderator has given the okay. If the thread is much too large or messy/cluttered and you require a new thread, contact a moderator to have the old one closed so you can make a new thread. (If you are going to do this please make the new threads Op contain all information about the new product up to date)
3. Threads and news updates MUST be vocaloid related. A list of tags and topics can be found below.
4. News must have sources. Give credit where credit is due.
5. Try not to copy and paste news posts from other sources verbatim. Try to paraphrase and make it your own. (Of course, still give credit.)
6. Anyone can post news if you think the Reporters have missed it.
Tags and Topics
All vocaloid news must fit at least one of these topic criteria.
- New Albums Being Released (Must be a notable label or brand.)
- New Vocaloids Being Released/in Production
- New Vocaloid Features Being Released/in Production (Ex. Miku Append)
- Vocaloid Movies, Shows, Games, Trailers, etc Being Made, Released, or in Production.
- Anything Related to Project DIVA.
- Vocaloid Figmas, Figurines, Keychains, Nendoroids, Toys, etc Being Made/Released.
- Coverage of Anime Conventions, Festivals, and Events.
- Birthdays of Notable Vocaloid Figures.
- Vocaloid Video View Milestones on Nico (Minimum 1 million)
- Misc.
*Black★Rock Shooter information is relevant, but please post it in the sticky: [Black Rock Shooter News Sticky]
*Famous UTAUs like Kasane Teto are relevant.
*Producers and Companies are relevant.
**Famous Nico Singers are relevant.

Well said.
Though, it'll be nice if we have a sticky thread for album releases (both major album and Doujin,or anything with Vocaloid producers in it)

Mind if I give a suggestion?
Like when someone create a news topic he or she should keep it updated since during the thread discussions more information is revealed.
Some people don´t update the first page and it kinda makes harder the life of a person who are looking for some information.
Just an idea.

I am posting here to notify that the guide has been updated a bit
This rule has been added.
(and I decided to remove the no debate rule since we use the news threads themselves to discuss over making a repeat thread in vocaloid talk for that. Obviously flaming adn what not still isn't allowed of course, etc, etc.)
Quote
-Do not necro old/dead news. Dead news threads that are a month old(or older) should not be posted in any longer and should be left as archive. However, threads may be necro'd/revived if there is brand new news that is relevant to the thread itself.

@Note: Yes this subforum itself and OldVO.
I'm just saying treat the old dead threads like an archive rather than bumping/necro'ing/reviving them. Since it bumps up old threads that are irrelevant to our present interest in news and bumps off newer more important news threads which are relevant.
All the threads are viewable and aren't going anywhere, it's just necro'ing the old ones isn't allowed anymore since it's not really needed here(Unless there is some noteworthy news for an old thread or something)

Could there be a livestream sticky? I've seen a lot of Vocaloid producers are doing live shows like OSTER PROJECT and 8#Prince. Is it better to have a thread for each livestream or have a clump of threads?
I kinda find it news worthy.

The world is PINE, and apparently the sushi is his too. xP
