I have been playing Touhou for a year or two, and I have MOST of the Touhou games...maybe except for a few.
There were a lot of things to hate when I first got games, such as the difficulty in UFO, or how there were no homing amulets in SA (I now play with needles, 'cause I've gotten better since that time)
I browsed this forum, and couldn't find "which game do you like most?" threads at all...
I personally love Mountain of Faith and it's music (the "autumnal" based setting really madethe game more refreshing?), Impersihable night for the music and the characters, and UFO because it's pretty and provides a challenge (i love collecting UFOs for what I need!)

For me, it's either Imperishable Night or Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. I can't decide between the 2, but I guess EoSD takes the cake.

Now that's hard. For gameplay, it's PoFV and Hisoutensoku simply because it allows netplay. It's more fun to fight other peoples ￣ヮ￣
But putting that aside, PCB takes the lead. Full of awesome music, Necrofantasia, Doll Judgment, Necrofantasy, Border of Life, etc. And most of my favorite characters are in PCB. Playing PCB is really different from playing the other ones, all because of the music. Starting from Doll Judgment, the music gives the feeling of Epic and Phantasm for the entire game. Like, they're telling you your very life is on the line. It feels like my mind and even body sense some sort of transcendence feeling.

Oh woah, there really isn't a thread for favourite Touhou game...that's odd (I think there was one on old VO though). I'll be stickying this.
Anyway, my absolute favourite games are the 12th (Undefined Fantastic Object/UFO) and the 1st(Highly Responsive to Prayers/HRtP).
I am not that good at UFO, so I play on Normal or Easy modo if I'm feeling like a real faggot.
However I play strictly lunatic for HRtP, fun shit.
I also adore all of the characters in both games. Along with the music. HRtP and UFO hold the most catchy songs for me (for the most part anyway) and for me have the all around 'best' soundtracks.
Also the story for UFO is pure fucking yes.

Edit; I'm going to change the title a tad so it doesn't confuse people when they read the most recent post in the games subforum (They might think this is for all games in general or something.)

PCB was my first game and is also my favorite. I enjoyed the mechanics of it and compare all the other's to it.

Ahh... I'm pretty new to the Touhou-verse, but PoFV would be mine...
Because it's the first one I actually beat... even on easy mode.
After that would be SWR, no reason really cept I've been playing it the most recently.
I never really play the higher dificulties though on any of them, I have enough stress issues as it is.
Once in a while though...

I'm a little bit split when it comes to this e_e
I really love Hisoutensoku... as someone else said earlier, it's a lot more fun to play with other people. Plus, I like how you can port the characters from SWR to play in Hisouten as well. And Cirno is playable! :3 As for the actual curtain-fire shooting touhou games, it would probably be PCB. It was the first touhou game I played, it has amazing music in it as well. :3
