I'm not talking about hacking to get infinite Rare Candies or the perfect Pokemon, mind you. i'm talking about Pokemon ROMs that have been hacked to create something new.

So does anyone play any hacked Pokemon games? I personally like them a lot. I love the ones that are a little darker than regular games, have a good amount of script, and a cool story line. I'm not a fan of Fakemons unless they;'re REALLY well done, but usually I'm overly critical when it comes to spriting so I don't like them much. also not a fan of newer Pokemon being inserted into older games (ex. 5th gen Pokemon in a hack based on Ruby/Sapphire)

That being said, some of my favourite hacks are by Koolboyman. Specifically, Pokemon Prism. it's unfinished, but it's great. he's put a lot of detail and interesting stuff into it. Pokemon Identity was another one I liked, also unfinished. it's got a good script and an interesting story.

Aaand currently, I'm playing pokemon Snakewood. Pokemon with zombies in it, haha. It's not bad. There's a lot of stuff that I would have personally done differentlt, but it's entertaining to play.

So anyone else like them?

Sounds interesting, I haven't really played that many (aside from a couple of "hard" mode ones) which at times can make the game near impossible ;_;

Naranja wasn't bad, although from what I remember the English was kind of poor so there were parts of the story that were really unclear to me.

I think the same guy made Pokemon Quartz? I didn't like that one at all though.

Moemon isn't bad. I liked it at first, but then i got bored since it's the same story with altered sprites. The girls are really cute though!

naranja was originally Spanish and made by an actual payed group, quartz was made by some fat 40 year old American that lives with his mother

I played one that was called Pokemon Raptor. It had its own region, all 386 pokemon (based from Emerald), own story line. The grammar was off at times, not common but it happened enough to notice. I liked it, I didn't know other hacks existed. Are there any finished ones you could recommend?

Thanks, I've been needing something new to do and that sounds great lolol.

I can't really think of any good ones I've played that've been completely finished.

I think Pokemon Snakewood (the one I've been playing on and off) is pretty much done. It's not the best hack, but it's pretty entertaining.

Pokemon Brown, made by Koolboyman, is also seems to be pretty much done. I only played a little bit of it, so I can't say much. I prefer his Prism, but that only goes to the fourth gym so far. It takes him a while to release new versions, but they're worth it imo. Pokemon Brown should also be good though.

Anywho you can look through the PokeCommunity site I linked to to see if there's anything you like. The majority of hacks are incomplete though.

Um, okay. You could have probably Googled the game and found the proper info on it, but okay. :U

Quartz was made by a Spanish user by the name of Baro. Not Spanish as in Latin America, but from Spain. At least, that's what he claims. Regardless, there's a lot of Spanglish in this game. And a lot of cursing...

It's good in the sense that it's a very, VERY extensive ROM hack. All new Pokemon, new bad guys, new plot, etc. (Granted, due to Baro's limitations all he could really do was mostly change text and graphics, move around items, give each gym new typings, etc.)

But that's the only thing that's really good about it. It's still just a ROM hack of Ruby with new sprites and stuff. And even then, most of the Pokemon sprites are, uh... not that pretty. Also, most people who've played the game say that it feels much harder than the original Ruby/Saphhire. From what I know, this is mostly due to some of the crazy types/levels some of the Pokemon have. And I think a couple of the gym leaders have full restores and max potions instead of regular potions.

Still, I give him props for actually putting in as much effort as he did. Even though his spriting's pretty bad, he still when through and changed every Pokemon, made new sprites for Trainers, etc. Seriously, I would have probably just given up due to laziness at some point.

So if you're interested in Quartz... well, you might like it, you might not. I've played it for a bit, didn't really like it. If you'd rather not waste time downloading it, you could always watch some videos of it. Heck, just look up a Let's Play of it. (I sincerely apologize if this seems like paid advertizing, but: Here! I do enjoy this Let's Play of Quartz. Makes fun of a lot of the problems with Quartz. xD )
