Crypton isn't updating their V2's they've already said that, but theres the option to upgrade them anyway via Vocaloid 3's import.

I'll always be happy about the amount of Vocaloid characters being made.

It's like complaining about there being too many types of guitars, or drums, etc, etc. They're an instrument and as time goes by, the software improves, so they make new voicebanks with improved quality and such, etc, etc.

Although I don't know why anyone would try to keep up with the entirety of Vocaloid at that point. Most instrument users stick to one or two companies when they're focusing on an instrument they like. That way they don't get overwhelmed with the amount of guitars out there and such, etc, etc.

It's the same case with Vocaloid, it's getting more and more 'overwhelming' for people because they try to pay attention to the entirety of it as a whole. There's loads of voicebanks being released, and quite a number of companies jumping in, and/or are already established.

As for THIS particular one, I don't have an opinion on it.

pretty much this.
But people (oldfags) like me are used to know about the fandom as a whole, I don't know what I'm going to do if I have to keep up with 2˜3 companies only D:<
Anyway I'm not that lost into the new vocaloids so I might still be able to keep up with it.

It could be far more worse, like Pokemon. I still have enough space in my brain to keep track of them.
*Wonders different companies from different countries get into vocaloid.

Eh, it's a bit to keep up with, but I do enjoy the diversity. It's like ice cream flavors. There's a ton of them, you'll always have your favorites, and there is so much to pick from! That and there are always those that make you go 'bleh', but that's okay too. Someone else probably loves it. =D

Looking forward to more information on this one.

It looks like it's going to be a private voice, I don't see anything anywhere that says it has uses/is going to be used other than online navigator and spokesperson. If that's the case, then why try to keep track of it? It's only going to be used by the company and no one else will make a song out of it to contribute to the VOCALOID music industry, the backbone of VOCALOID's consumer-media, so why bother?

Which brings me to the point of why do people find it strange/dislikes private-use voices. VOCALOID is a voice synthesising software, which means you have a completely manipulative voice. Sure, VOCALOID didn't rocket off into general interest immediately, and was probably wasn't of adequate quality for much use, but it's about time the software started branching out of the self-made music made on the internet when other companies realise it's other potentials. Be happy that your music-maker is gaining popularity and is getting use in the domestic.

I'm not even sure if it is a private voice, or if this even made any sense.

Actually what's even weirder is why are they getting a Vocaloid to announce things? Vocaloids have been proven to sound bad speaking, if they want speaking Vocaloids get AHS and their Voiceroids

Vocaloids do not have to sound bad when speaking conversationally. for example MMD agent can speak in human conversational tones. and there are several demonstrations of users making Miku speak in conversational tones albeit with miku's rather younger than she looks high pitched child like tone. in fact there are some links to Miku speaking conversationally in the campus area of this forum.

"Hello my nom is Miku Hatsune... What yar nom? I'um sawree I need to goh"

Her English is adorably child-like... Thats the one thing I do like about Miku's attempts at English, out of all the J-loids, hers is simple adorable.

yup. (i need to check my blood sugar after watching that) but English Miku is coming out. :) and my point was they don't have to sound like the typical talkloid which gives everyone the impression vocaloids cannot speak in conversational tones.

Pffff... out of all the vocaloids, Miku is the only one that makes me laugh uncontrollably when speaking/singing in Engrish. I don't think I can stand her in English.

well when she does it causes me to feel several ways all at once. mirthful; as it's cute. a little embarrassed for listening to her as she sounds like she's 5 years old. and vindicated that she does not have that rapid sing song effect or stacatto of most vocaloid talkloids. i guess it just makes me happy that she sounds passably human when employed as a speaker.

Interview with "father of Vocaloid" via Lawson, wish someone could translate it.

Edit:
Oh the redesign for Vocaloid is in the second video, how did I over look that? Well its certainly... Different. O_O

Forgot to link to the channel;

Edit:
For those who have trouble with the video, I did "grab" a copy here;

I don't know what to make of her though, honestly, I don't want to comment because I'm just not that sure what to say about it.
