"unpopular" can be hard to define (something like "I don't like Miku at all" is pretty iffy because many people here on VO are pretty mad at Crypton 100% of the time while she's the patron saint of all vocaloids for others) and it seems the mods aren't so stringent about making sure that every single opinion is unpopular because there's more important things goin' on.

In my experience CUL's generally not lauded for her voicetype so I'd concur that your opinion is, in fact, popular. Part of the moderating job is making sure everyone stays on-topic to keep a thread from kiltering off-course. Since Byakuren is a mod and he has pointed out that you've posted inappropriately I recommend you suck it up.

EDIT:

I like it when people say Teto is a vocaloid. It kinda makes it seem like her purpose was fulfilled, kind of like how you address transvestites by the gender they're attempting to emulate.

unpopular opinion:

I know you didn't mean to say anything mean but the word "transvestite" is a slur. It's better to refer to transsexual people as transsexual. Secondly, it's massively disrespectful to suggest that they're "emulating" a gender. Think of it this way: TS the way you're thinking is when people are born with a gender in their brains but not in the rest of their body. Any changes they make to their body, or in the way they dress, are to better display that gender that they were born with their brain. I'm not saying that you're intending to be insulting and you are a very lovely person.

That is just about it

and of course there are genderqueer people and intersex people which makes a straightforward explanation less straightforward sorry guys V__V

And now that is all.
YT Listing and Soundcloud (so that you may assess where I am musically), my vocaloid drawing/redesign thread (So that you can assess where I am, visual-artistically), I'm likely to have not updated either since 12/30/2012 and now you know what to expect from me 8 |

I did not disregard your post at all. Infact, I would rather you and anyone else post what this thread is meant for rather then be off topic(Posting silly nonsensical posts and/or popular opinions in general would be off topic).

While there have been many times people have posted popular opinions here, numerous were under the thought that they were not popular, that or they were quickly corrected by someone.

You're the first from what I've seen of my own thread that has ever actually purposefully posted a popular opinion, as a member of the staff I am telling you not to do it. I expect no one else to purposefully post popular opinions like that either. It's common sense.

I'm being nice and asking you to please not do it again rather then just delete things without mentioning it and give out actual mod warnings. I'm being very polite. This thread has a purpose, do not back talk me when I am just telling you not to repeat something that shouldn't be done again.

As much as I don't like to say it, you need to keep in mind I am a staff member doing my job here too, a lot of my posts are very regular user like posts but, not 'all my posts' are just from a regular users point of view.

That said, I apologize for derailing but this is more of a 'moderator's note' post for this topic.

If I do see any further purposeful offtopic posts in this thread I will delete them without politely asking one to cease.

Valshe does and always will sound like a girl to me in her 'boy voice' no matter what. Everyone's always like, "Omg! You mean that's NOT another guy!? Her voice is so deep, I couldn't tell!" But really to me, she just sounds like a more mature girl. (which she is)

No matter how hard I try to imagine another guy duet-ing with her, I just can't. She still sounds like a girl to me. XD

Her and 96neko whom people always seem to mistake for a guy for some reason?? I agree with this.

Despite what anyone will tell me that Tone Rion was made to be moe and should be ignored, I really like her. I think she has plenty of potential in her own range and type of songs meant for her voice. And maybe it was her pastel scheme that got me.

I think Yuzuki Yukari is overrated and reminds me too much of Miku's append. She doesn't really have a distinct voice to me.

And I'm kinda bored with all of the futuristic/school/body jumper suit designs of Vocaloid, Utau and fanmades. It gets boring after a while. Let's go medieval or Steampunk. Give them a unique thing....I guess.
If you just noticed me now, I've been lurking around alot longer than that...

V1 is not inferior no the newcomers. It can honestly hold its own against the new engines, since it has non terrible breathiness and resonance.

I actually can understand the logic behind that, which is similar to the reason why I call Ritsu a female.

But anyways, back to the Vocaloids!

I don't mind it when companies make more female Vocaloids.
I also don't care when people compare Vocaloids.

Why is comparing vocaloids seen as a "bad" thing anyway? People compare music products/software all the time. It's a reliable way to judge if it's worth buying or not.

MEIKO =/= Lily

MEIKO =/= CUL

MEIKO =/= Yukari

MEIKO =/= Mew

MEIKO =/= Luka

MEIKO =/= IA

MEIKO =/= Japanese LoLa

MEIKO =/= Japanese Prima

MEIKO =/= Japanese Sweet Ann

... I swear, if it's anything near a mature voice, the Fandom will call it MEIKO.

This. I wondered myself how the heck people can call Lily sounds like Meiko. I can understand VY1 sounds like Miku. Or Kiyoteru sounds like Kaito. But not Lily and Meiko. In fact, there isn't any single other Vocaloid that sounds remotely like Meiko. The closest is CUL, but even then they're still pretty different.

Realism ≠ Quality

On the contray, while its not true for all Vocaloids. There is tons of other factors that question "what make sa Vocloid good quality" and realism is one of them.... Obivously Ryuto is a example of high quality Vocaloid who sucks at being realistic, but you also have Miku who is a unrealisitc vocaloid, but not a good quality Vocaloid (that followed later in V2 I note). It really depends on the Vocaloids intentionm if you make a Voclaoid for blues music and it doesn't sound anything like a blues vocal as intention, then you can say its quality sucks.
Youtube poster 1; what does the [/] do?

Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.
