Quite possibly one the eldest known Engloid composer at 61 years old, Mini got a chance to interview Malcolm Brown of LyleMusic for Engloids.Info

Before I spoil anything I might as well let Mini and her interview do the talking:

Mr. Malcolm Brown, also knowed as LyleMusic, is a Vocaloid composer like many others here. His works have a celtic touch and he mixes it with technology by using primarily vocaloid Miriam. What is truly amazing is that, he´s not only that talented, he makes Jazz, Classic and Celtic music and he´s also 61 years old, which makes him the eldest vocaloid composer we have ever seen or known.

In this brief time I spoke to him, Malcolm seems to be a very gentle and helpful man. His interest in music has capture the heart of many people over vocaloid community, here is a bit more about him:

Would you mind telling us a little about yourself?
After a long and enjoyable career at Sea and in business, I retired to a small island off the South Coast of England, called the Isle of Wight. This island is very beautiful, with a slow pace of life that suits me perfectly!

You can sample some of his music here.

He recently signed up to VO so take a look at his welcome thread aswell!

I like the fact that even someone at that age can use Vocaloid, the variety is really great. And I like how free he is about his music, it's rare to find something like this.

Personally, the songs aren't something I'd listen to, but they are great.

Hello Sappokei - Sincere thanks. I have always thought the whole point of the web was for everyone across the world to have free access to the huge wealth of knowledge and music that previously only existed in libraries and record stores. The web should be about sharing. Sadly, while it started that way, money took over (OK, everyone has to earn a living, but is there really joy in wealth? - I don't think so). Perhaps one day it may return to what it should be, but at my 'age' (!), I suspect I will not be around to see it!

(61 isn't THAT old!).

I'd still consider a lot of information and music to be free, but yes, you're right.

This is just amazing! At that age!

I know what I'm gonna do when I'm retired.

Guys, that's rude. Mentioning his age that often is a bit... Y'know, in poor taste, even if it's in a compliment.

Please do not worry about the age thing. I assure you that it really does not bother me (inside I am still 18!). The great thing about a forum like this one is that people of all ages and backgrounds can share and learn together and I most definitely learn from all of you.

And as an aside, age is not a factor in writing music. I have just had a Rock music number one hit on the web! At my age! Yes, I can still Rock, but perhaps just a little more slowly!

Best Wishes
Malcolm
