@ heyheyho, Interesting. I always sassumed they'd have the same accent. But yeah, my knowledge of Spanish is next to nothing (i.e., I can ask where the bathroom is, say "I don't speak spanish, please spek English" and say a few curse words) so i've been trying to keep up with what all the actual Spanish spekers have been saying about their pronunciation/accent.

Either someone spoiled or it's speculation. [/statingtheobvious] Although, I think it's the latter because A) how likely is it that anyone who went to that panel is in like the community or anyt--okay, somewhat likely, if it was advertised as an Engloid panel...But B ) it's more difficult to break a promise-thing to someone you've seen in real life?*

*I know it sounds ridiculous, but...Fullmetal Fantasy. The fact that that fan film everyone wants to see (I think) has not been seen on the internet once just because a voice actor asked for no one to post it is proof that this is totally possible. Probably. [/dubiousevidence]

Crossfrown said he sounded like a choir boy on her Tumblr. Pretty much confirmed.

that could be trol-lo-loling though just to throw people off the scent.

Plus young man and Choir boy aren't exactly synonymous.

edit

Anyone know how to make a citation needed thing in wikia >.>, wonder if I would get in trouble for doing that on the vocaloid wikia

Didn't Lawl or Chii say it ages ago when they said "It's a young-ish voice but not shota" or something like that.

That was NEVER revealed. XD Honestly us VocaTone people have been completely stumped by that wiki entry. A lot of things on Oliver's wiki are incorrect. Oliver's voice type has not been confirmed as of yet. That was only speculation. The only people outside of VocaTone who have heard it are those who attended our VOCALOID panel, and so far I haven't seen anything spilled from any of them either.
That wiki... is interesting. Don't trust it. 8P

^ I imagined that to be because they were going more for a Mexican look rather than Spanish. I also vaguely recall someone saying that they sounded more Mexican than Spanish as well, but then again, it was only one person...

This one person lied, they have a Spaniard accent, I should know considering I know both region versions of the language, they have the "Spaniard lisp" if that's what you want to call it.

Such is the way of wiki's. It will all be straightened out when he's actually released.

Why would she lie? She's an employee of Vocatone, lying about stuff on her blog isn't that professional.

Perhaps she's referring to the name, "Oliver"?

Fair point, though it does say "Oliver sounds like a member of a Church boy’s choir like the epitome of the voicetype"
that is vague enough that it could be referring the roll of the Conductor ... they make noises sometimes don't they?
Actually youtube suggests that Boys Choir is used for all age ranges, I see adults, under it, I see kids, I see teens... though the great and fallible wiki suggests that those members are former choirboys...

Besides it also says they can be early to mid puberty to be part of a boy's choir so... yes it is vague, we can assume young, but it's not neccisarily a confirmation of voice type...
And if it is... I hope Crossfrown doesn't get in trouble for that tumblrpost

But if that were the case (that she was just talking about the name Oliver), wouldn't she have had to use quotes...? (Though, that would make it too obvious that she wasn't talking about Oliver the Vocaloid if she was trying to be ambiguous on purpose.)

Then again...it would be super unprofessional to reveal something so important in a blog--not unless it were, like, an official blog. Besides, this whole time, the Vocatone employees have always been like "We need to get the okay to tell you that/I don't think we can say that yet..." If suddenly they were allowed to tell us what voice type it was, why wouldn't they do so? Since we've (...well, you people, anyway...) have been bugging them about it for 70 pages.

Darn it. I don't know what to believe in anymore! ;__;

The voice type has been retroactively revealed (high, male), and the age range has been heavily implied (silhoutte of a young character that would look too cute/feminine with shoes). This is something that you can take as fact, and something you could collect on your own if you've been taking serious tabs on Engloid news.

A boy's choir generally has a decent range of voice types and strengths, all the way up to 15-16 if the voice deepens smoothly enough(ala Justin Bieber or Cody Simpson).

I basically revealed absolutely nothing. It was an untagged joke post, something I tend to make a lot with quite a few fandoms, because it's my personal blog.

Just because I'm involved with the company doesn't mean I should be taken as gospel!

I actually have such a horrible record with being serious I keep my Vocatone signature in a spoiler lest someone actually takes me seriously.

Most of my VO lifespan has been with a reputation as an enormous troll, after all.
