The lighting is pretty basic but it works.

However, tone down on the hat because you overdid it in some little spots that are noticeable if you look for it.

Use the colour of lighting as gentle overlay and try dodging the subject instead of simply applying the light to whatever area needs it. And if you want to add a little more depth, try and manipulate the BG more and burn some parts that would be darker. Then again, can I see the original render?

^ Render is in there!

Thanks for the suggestion! I used to do a Image Apply and then dodge n burn.

But someone else told me, it's much better if I just did the soft brush technique.

I guess I should go back to what I once did XD

Well, dodge and burn is pretty standard, soft brush works as well but you actually have to be pretty skilled with it or you'll fail, since it's not how regular light behaves.

Soft brush is simpler to understand though.

^ XD I made a new sig using the same wall texture. But added other styles I used to do back then.

I think I did a terrible job on lighting, hopefully next time I can D&B better. I really liked the stock, it looked just like the female on the Vocaloid Box for Prima.

Also I got another stock from same person, chopped off part of the hair, to create a visible ponytail.

The effects you placed behind her really stick her out from the BG :/ Gives that impression that there is a background and a subject standing in front of the flat surface.

The lighting isn't bad, but because it's just B/W, you can't really see how the BG interacts with it... So.

Uh, yeah. The boxes kinda detracted from it overall :/ It gave the tag this flat feeling despite the nice starry BG and pretty render. Don't try and mix styles too much, or it just makes it weird. (Drawing)

To clarify... I meant mixing Anime style with realism or minimalism with blend/smudge style WITHIN the tag. Keep the elements with a sense of unity, as if everything could feasibly belong in the image.
