[Gin Ryuusei]

I downloaded UTAU on the eve of the new year, and have since then begun working on my own. :3
After around 5 sketches or so, messing with symmetry tool in illuststudio, colouring on sai, and touching up on photoshop, Im finally happy with my design :3
I dont plan on editing it anymore unless its an extreme fail, but would love to hear comments on my design , thanks


After taking on some advice I created the second part of my project; Ruri, who has a different outfit with no armwarmers or legwarmers !
I think I made an improvement :3 What do you guys think?
Both of them are my actual utauloids and im not going to scrap either. Now im done with the concept art, I plan on starting the official art :3! I have also written the music to Gin's first song, Labyrinth of Time, which has no lyrics, you're free to hear it if you msg me, I'm just not openly distributing it till I have lyrics and vocals ~

P.s If you're wondering what the weird symbol beside Ruri is, it's a tattoo she has just below her neck on the centre just above her chest, it has a compass design in the circle if you can't see it (it was scaled down) :3

It's very cute and different than other Utaus, however, the only thing I can think of currently is how Cryptonish the sleeves and legwarmers are. I know, armwarmers and legwarmers don't exclusively belong to Crypton, but it's a bit of an over-used design for the android design.

I think, that if the sleeves were to be attached and the shorts a bit longer and baggier as opposed to the legwarmers, it would feel more in place.

I honestly love the design. The sleeves don't look cryptonish to me, but the legwarmers do remind me of Rin a bit. But overall, wonderful design!

Thank you :3 The sleeves were originally attached to the top with chains,
but I decided not to because that's part of the design for the main character of an original novel im writing :L

Awww Thanks :3! I love D-gray man <3 Though I don't think I noticed that surprisingly I love any sort of curse mark / geometric tattoo (Particularly crosses, stars, triangles, and tribal signs) xD
I was trying to make Ruru cute and dango-like, but still simple and recognisable :3

I like it as a whole, especially the skin colour. The one thing that bugs me is that you've got some nice fantasy-ish designs, but then the clothes are really casual and baggy and don't really fit with the top half.

Thankyou, I love grey skin :3, I am a bad drawer of anything below the waistline D| and sometimes worm my way out of it too xD. I don't think I had enough ideas generally on the clothing so I'll take it as Constructive crit to help me broaden my clothing imagination <3

For a quick fix, I would say drop the legwarmers. They look very out of place, and bare legs would look cuter. As for the outfit, its not bad, but doesn't match the head much. I would try for a more fantasy like design, because the head looks fantasy like and I really like the head. It would help make the design look much more original.

But yeah, I think if you changed the clothing to be less sporty-casual and more dreamy and fantasy like. uh, can't really do fantasy so i can't give you any ideas unfortunately. ono

Ooh, but try to keep the chain strap, I like that a lot. /just noticed it

very unique. i love seeing darker skin tones in UTAUs too. i cant think of anything negative to say about it. 9/10. i wish you luck ^^

Ah there is one thing I forgot to mention xD, Gin's main theme is that of a time/space traveller, so the way I've tried to match the clothing is pretty odd but in a way its still colour co-ordinated. Thats why its a mixture of different styles of clothing (probably different time periods :3) xD Fantasy wasn't my main theme even though I do love fantasy <3
Lol I honestly cant draw leg curves right xD, they make my characters look like plump chickens or scarecrows xD
OMGfghfgh Hands. Yeah you can tell how much I fail at them xD

Thank you for all the Crit <3, It will come in useful in designing my only other UTAU :3 (Though I probably won't get the sketches done for another few weeks, but when I get round to it, hopefully it will have a more original design= And then I will probably never make another utau- 2 is enough for me as it enables me to write duets xD )

THE FEMALE IS GORGEOUS AND I LOVE HER

The outfits meshes together a lot better than the male one, and just...I love everything about her design. Some people will probably say the thigh-highs are a bit generic, but i'm always a huge fan of that.
