...honestly, I don't know what you're even talking about. XD I have never heard anyone call virgins losers outside of TV. Very rarely has someone called me a loser for being a virgin. And I have never, ever met anyone who thought sex was the most important thing in life. Also, if you're asexual, then shouldn't you not even want to have sex because of the fact that you're asexual? It's not like "Sheesh, with all this pressure, now I don't even want to!" If you're really asexual, why were you even interested? Because of all glamour and hype surrounding it or something...? Sorry, I don't understand these types of things...

Also, you seem to think that if a person has sex, his immediate, conscious goal must be to reproduce and if that's not his goal, he's shallow or immoral or something. They made condoms and birth control for a reason. I can't pull any study or statistic out of my ass and it's not as if I'd know from experience, but I'd say most people have sex because it's fun. If anyone bugs you about being a virgin, instead of saying you're not interested in sex (which will make you sound like you secretly are but have no luck), say you're asexual. That's a valid, permanent reason.

Actually, some asexuals can want sex, either to please their partner or just from the physical feeling. Being asexual has nothing to do with your libido, and you can be both asexual and a libidoist (As I am). However, the difference is that the libido isn't targeted at anyone. It's just kind of there going "Mmmmwrrrr DO SOMETHING WITH ME" and it can be really annoying, actually.

The definition of 'otaku' itself is a person who has an obsession with something, whether it be animes, cars, sports, or anything. Simple like that. Even if it's a cool popular guy, if he knows a lot about sport cars, always talk about them and seem to always think of them, then he is an otaku by definition. It's just that the term itself is used more to refer to anime/manga fans in practice. VocaloidOtaku basically means 'People who are obsessed with Vocaloid'. Being an otaku only becomes bad if you cannot control this obsession. But of course, people nowadays associate otaku with the worst possible condition...

Back on-topic. Actually in most Eastern countries (or countries where religion seems to be widespread), people losing their virginity before marriage are the ones considered immoral. Free sex is considered an immoral, bad behavior since it shows one's lack of control over his/her sexual lust.

I'm 16 and a virgin which most people consider 'weird'. But then again the UK does have the highest teen pregnancy rate so i'm not really in a rush to have sex either. Obviously i am smart enough to use a condom, though. If i wanted to have sex with my boyfriend i would, but i'm not going too. The thought scares the hell out of me. I'll let someone put their dick in me when i want. Oh and there's obviously nothing wrong with being a virgin as i think people have already pointed out xD

Same here. A 20 year old virgin in the UK is odd to people (including my university friends).

As a leper would say to his mistress, "What's the bloody point"?

Just because I don't conform to (what can best be described as) the UK social norm of casual sex (i.e. getting wasted and screwing the first thing that grinds up to you - yeah, I don't drink either) doesn't mean I'm in the wrong. Quite frankly, I like to think I'm in the right, purely because I know who my first time will be with and when that will be - it will be with my wife-to-be (whoever that ends up being) after marriage. I feel that the main point behind sex (you know, the whole "making love" thing?) should be done with someone you truly love, instead of some random bimbo desperate for a shag.

Unless I missed something, this thread has gone from "what's the big deal anyways" to "which is better"

Doesn't make a difference either way. Virgin or not your human. There's nothing special about being either, nor is one better than the other. It just simply is.

I'll admit, I'm a virgin. And I'm not giving up until I find someone who won't leave me after the first week and is interested in more than my body. So long as the relationship continues to last a reasonable amount of time before and after, I'm fine. Don't tell my parents I said that. But my choice shouldn't affect yours. My sex life has nothing to do with you, I'm not gonna rub it in your face. The thing is, everybody else forgot how not to rub theirs in mine. Why? Cuz the media. Yup. That TV, that stereo, and even your computer, are in fact, the reasons why. Well, technically it's how people use them, but you know what I mean.

EDIT

Did anyone read my post at all... you know, the one that explains why the virginity shunning started? It has nothing to do with the media, the media only propagates what the majority feels, that's what it does it caters to the majority. It doesn't even matter in the long run, because the people who are smart enough (the ones with common sense) realize that media isn't always right.

You said why it started. Not why it continues.
And implying anybody young enough to be influenced by media who is actually influenced is smart.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
That's all I have to say on the matter.

I'm a virgin, I don't see why people give a shit about my sex life, or lack thereof.

I just find one thing strange. It's off-topic abit though:
When a girl loses virginty everyone goes:''She must be a slut/whore or something...''
And when a guy loses his virginity everyone goes ''You dog!''
Jesus christ what gives?
I mean like I am a virgin but everyone talks bad about those girls who are not.
I mean non-virgin=/=slut.

I'm not asexual... Maybe just sexually pessimistic...

That's just how things are now. =_=;
Then again, when I lost my virginity my family/friends were like "ABOUT DAMN TIME" lol, 'cause I'd been with my boyfriend for 2 years.

Not being a virgin in no way means you're a slut. >.>; It just means she'd had sex at least once. If my memory serves me right... Slut = having sex many many many times with many many people, right? And brags about it.

This is an interesting way to get back into posting on VO!~~ \( u w u )/
Hmn! There's absouletely nothing wrong with beign a virgin!
But
also nothing wrong vice versa!
I think people care wayyyy too much about their "virginity"
I think the whole concept of virginity is dumb anyway! Except for possible medical issues what difference does it make?
I ..recently lost my virginity, and was a few weeks shy of beign legal, and you know what!
I feel exactly the same ya know! my hymen was already probably broken from tampons, doing trampolining when i was younger/exercise so no change there! and my mental state is the same!

It's sad for guys though they feel pressured into having sex to "be a man" and women are expected to not want to have sex because
I dunno oooo they have something go insidee themmmm!~~ so what! also peoples views on when you stop being a virgin is different, what if you're a lesbian? Or another orientation but only be with women are you forever a virgin? I don't think so because there are many kinds of sex!

Okay wow I get passionate about this subject sry (/w\)
Sorry if i diverted a bit from the initial topic!

This stupid tendency to look down upon virgins is nothing more than a combination of society peer pressure and men's hormonal thirst for phallic recognition from others around them (if that actually makes any sense, but I guess this is a topic I'm pretty sensible to).
Hence, there is nothing wrong with being a virgin or not spending your time boasting about your "feats" in that matter, unless you want to behave like a monkey.

Errr...
Aren't you still a virgin, even if your hymen isint intact?
Doesn't virgin mean somone who hasn't been in an intercourse?

Very good question. Let's answer it in a simple fashion. Having sex in a way wich possibly could make you pregnant, makes you lose your virginity.

Hard to determine with boys,though...

Well, you could define it for guys as involving penetration I guess, seeing as that could count for both straight and gay...

I forgot to talk about this video right here, because it implied that "most likely to die a virgin" was an undesirable trait. Maybe it's played for laughs, but it seems to shame Miku fans as well (like they all are creeps who want to have sex with a cardboard cutout of her).
