He seems to be growing a substantially large fanbase relatively quickly. I personally like the idea of having him be our Miku, but what do you think?

Is Oliver going to be our Miku?

I always thought of SONiKA of our Miku, she does a lot of pop, has green hair like Miku, she also has a large amount of fans, and they both don't sound that realistic.

Pretty sure that Op's referring to the English vocaloid equivalent, not just vocaloids in general.

Though, Miku English will be coming out in (hopefully) the near future, but I really have doubts it'll be as popular as her original and even her append banks.

Yeah, but Miku English will still be more popular than any Engloid for sure. D= I mean, look at Luka.

It'd be wonderful for Oliver to be that popular though.

The only thing that'll murder Oliver'd be English Twins, but I think we're good for a while. Miku got her success due to her marketing, so VocaTone and PowerFX need to step it up if they want him to get really popular. He has a strong base internationally, so we just need to give him a push before he dominates the market, imo.

No, I think Miku in general is more popular than Oliver, which is the only reason her english bank would exceed popularity. Luka's mostly popular due to her japanese voicebank....actually if we're taking the Japanese vocaloid's english voicebanks into account, Luka is the 'english equivalent' to Miku's Japanese voicebank popularity, not Oliver.

I can't state (nor can anyone) that her english voicebank will be more so popular than Oliver. It probably will but as of right now we can't determine that until she's actually released....whenever that will be(and the longer Crypton makes the fandom wait the less interested fandom will be for when she is released.)

I would compare Sonika more to Miku, as people compare Oliver to Len.

But I don't like it when people think that one vocaloid is SOO much better than another one.
Once Miku comes out in English, I expect there to be a lot of people buying her due to her popularity, and Crypton stated that if Miku English becomes popular, then they will make English voice banks for the twins and the other cyrptloids as well.
( Hopefully all of Oliver's fans wont move to Len's side if he comes out in english, because then that would be annoying).

Thery'e all good, but I don't think Oliver could replace Miku, shes way too popular (her fanbase in Japan is like Justin Bieber's and Lady Gaga's fans combined).

Gosh, I want to buy them all!

(I'm a OliverxRin fan so I'm actually hoping for Rin to come in E out so I can make duets! And MikuxLen! )

We're comparing by popularity relative to other Vocaloids of the same language, not by voice. And no one said Oliver would replace Miku; the thread is about whether Oliver will be the most popular/iconic English Vocaloid the way that Miku is the most popular/iconic Japanese Vocaloid.

Looking at it that way, I guess that will happen!
He grew a lot of fans in such a short period of time!

I don't think he will.

I don't really want him to. I don't really think Oliver is suited for much. He was fancy and fun at first, but he got old after a few weeks. He's not very flexible.
One day I shall have an amazing signature. This is not the day.

I think oliver still has a chance, his fanbase seems to be expanding it's just a matter of will there be a producer who can bring oliver to fame, let's say the equivalent to ryo.

Unless Oliver can ship 60,000+ units, 40,000+ in his first year, I doubt he will become as popular as her. I looked on youtube recently, he has more uploads then past Vocaloids for English (discounting Luka), at this stage, but he hasn't become our Miku. When you consider also a chunk of those videos are also likely to be Pocaloid, its still not good.

Whats holding back Oliver is the Vocaloid fandom sadly.
Youtube poster 1; what does the [/] do?

Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.
