http://songle.jp/

Brainchild of the AIST(Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) it appears to be a beta version of a technology that will let you see the music you play. It shows beat, melody, chord progression, and has got a couple of Vocaloid songs up on its site already. Internet folk have been invited to test it and correct its efforts to improve what it does.

AIST are the dudes behind several sound-related projects right now, including Vocalistener. In fact the visuals of this looks a lot like Vocalistener before you put in the lyrics. I can't help but wonder if this is a precursor to that plugin's eventual release...eh. It's interesting, in any case.

For a second i thought it was a VSQ distribution

overall still don't have a clear understanding of it's purpose

is it suppose to show off the progression of how a song is played?

I just checked out a few of the songs I recognized. It's interesting, but it seems like it still needs some work.

Yes. It's supposed to show the song's structure. I think it'd be really useful for maybe someone who wanted to study music theory. Not immensely useful, because it's not very detailed. But still pretty useful.

If you know all the keys, it's not. (I don't, but that's the only complicated looking thing I see on there.)

It still needs work. It compared Rera (an orchestral/Celtic song) with Cyber Thunder Cider(completely electronic through and through) and ABBA's Dancing Queen.

Presumably, it compares songs based on chord progression and melody, not instrumentation and arrangement. So probably if someone made a fast rock version of a song and then a slow, mournful ballad version, it would pick up on the identical melody and compare the two.

It compared Just Be Friends with 7 Days by Emon ft. Luka. Sounds somewhat similar, but it was just a coincidence. And btw, if you think about it, Cyber Thunder Cider and Dancing Queen would probably make for a great mashup, so I'd say the site's actually pretty good.

I didn't say the graph related CTC with Dancing Queen. Both branched off Rera.

Anyhoo, I get your point.

I went to view a song on that and the thing crashed my web browser... Ah...

ANYWAY, I remember seeing something like this before a long time ago, though not in much detailed, thus this is rather impressive about what it does on this level of detail - but nothing new.
Youtube poster 1; what does the [/] do?

Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.

Wow, this site looks interesting!

I was trying to register a song, but the problem is: which site actually link to mp3s?

EDIT: I've registered "Sayang" by KAITO from Piapro, but how about Phineas and Ferb songs?

This looks pretty cool. I'll definitely have to examine some of my favorite songs with it. (:
