Ai was furious. A small group of three soldiers had just arrived, with several deadly wounds and a rapport that dwarfs had attacked the royal treasure chamber. "They were in a great number and most of the soldiers were taken off guard and are now dead or taken hostage. There were only a few alive when we got here." These three soldiers had been able to escape, but they were barely alive as they were kneeling in front of the princess. They had been four when they started the travel backto the castle, but one had died of his wounds halfway there. Ai turned to her body guard who quickly kneeled. "They have attacked us before. How did we win?" she said cold. The body guard bent her head down as she answered. "We weren't fighting their troops that time, your highness. We were killing their commandor. Dwarfs are good soldiers, almost invincible, but they get confused if they don't have anyone to give them orders." Ai frowned. "Find and hire an assassin. You have a lot of contacts, and we need to get rid of the dwarfs before they take over my treasure chamber. Tell him I'll pay him." As the body guard started to protest, she pointed at the door "Go! NOW!" before turning her back against her body guard. She heard her bow before leaving the room.

Malin didn't want to leave the princess there, she knew the guards wouldn't be able to protect her, but what the princess said had to be followed. She decided to hurry back after hiring an assassin. She hurried out from the castle and whisteled for her dragon. While mounting it, she thought about the different bars the assassins used to come to when they weren't on a mission, and wondered on which of them the most famous of the assassins, Beilin, had decided to go to today. "Fly me to Fantasia," she said thoughtfully to her dragon, who lifted. It was best to start with the most popular of the assassins bars. Malin was grateful for all the contacts she had as a ninja and a former assassin. She hoped Beilin would remember her from the time when she was a assassin, they had been good friends. Unfortunately, she hadn't had time to answer to his messages when she started working for the royal family. As the dragon started to land by the bar, the assassins in the bar went outside to see who was coming. She scanned the group after Beilin as she came closer to the ground.

Beilin remained seated when he heard the dragon land outside. His pet cobra was already sinking its fangs into a live mouse that was thrown into his feeding cage. He heard the door open and a second later one of the female assasins entered. "Beilin, a royal guard is here to see you. It sounds urgent.", He stood up, keeping the same emotionless look on his face, walking over to the door. when he left the dimly lit room he noticed who had called for him. "Finaly back. i thought you abandoned me malin.", his face remained expresionless, but his voice echoed with a tone of hurt pride.



Chrono had been seated at the far end of the throne room as all this happened. when malin had left he stood up, walking to the princess. "Is there anything i can do your highness. You only need to ask.", he bowed to her, kneeling on one knee, kissing her hand.

Ai just glared at him, taking her hand back. She turned her back against him, walking back to her throne. "What can you do?" she said cold. It was obvious she didn't believe he was able to do anything at all to make something better right now. She sat down on her throne. I need to get rid of the dwarfs... she thought.

Malin approached Beilin, giving him a friendly hug. "I'm so sorry, I've had really much to do up at the castle... The princess just sent me away to hire an assassin, and I came to ask if you wanted the job. You will of course get paid for it." She smiled to him "So, what do you think about some extra money?" She wondered to herself if he wanted to hear about the job from her now, or if he was willing to face the princess right now, but decided it would be the safest for him if he chose to not face her at the moment.

"Very well. Im surprised you came to me, after all you know it was me who killed her mother. And before you say anything, i know you want me to kill the dwarf leader. Word travels fast. I'll see what i can do, but tell her i want at least 2000 gold peices. This is no simple assasination.", he turned walking into the pub, before grabbing hager (the cobra) and leaving the pub again. he nodded to malin, his face remained expresionless. And walked off down the road to his waiting horse, smiling.




Chrono stood up, and walked to the throne. "Your highness knows my capabilities. Why cant you trust me?", he smiled at her. "Ive been in this castle for over 300 years. I saw you grow up, become the woman you are. Watching over you, and you still distrust me. Just because im a devil. But i suppose i should be truthfull with you, i have never told any of your ancestors this. And im not sure i should tell you.", he kissed her hand again. kneeling on one knee again.

Ai looked cold at him "Tell me what?" Her voice was so cold, it could have been used to freeze a lake. She pulled her hand away from him again. Why is he so clingy today...? she thought annoyed. When she was in a good mood, she usually liked having him around, but no one was good enough when she was in a bad mood. She glared at him, awaiting his response.

Malin nodded. "I know. And the reason I came to you, even though I know you were the one killing the queen is because you are my friend. But do not dare let anyone hire you to kill the princess, because I'll be in the way. She means a lot for me." she turned around, walking to the dragon. "I'll go tell her highness you accepted" she souted to him before the dragon lifted, taking her to the castle.

"I suppose you would find out anyway. Before i lost the ability to use my power at will, before losing my horns. I was one of the three princes of the devil realm. The ruler over the middle realm, this realm. But my love for a human caused the master to break my horns.", he stood up, bowing.

Rae

Rae Flew seated atop a skeletal dragon, a gift from the princes to ensure she could get to any souls anywhere. For the moment she urged the dragon closer to the ground below the clouds where she normally flew. She knew that the sight of her atop her dragon struck fear in anyone that knew what her job was, so normally she avoided it. She was in the lands controlled by the elves; her business was within the castle, or under it, this time. She had last been in the castle nearly six years ago, when the pervious queen was killed, though none had known that time she had cloaked herself to avoid interfering. She had made it a personal rule to never try to change a person’s fate, death would always find them and saving one person could doom others, not that the princes minded, they wanted more souls to reward or torture. This time however she would people know she was coming, she actually wondered which would make it to the castle first the news she was in the area, or herself. She could hear alarms, and screams even if they didn’t know who or what she was her dragon would raise alarms. Despite the mild hurry was in she pulled the reigns to stop her dragon, , and then moved them in the signal for it to roar, how exactly it did that was a bit of a mystery all it was were bones and a few bits of flesh, it had nothing to make the sound, it didn’t matter it was magic after all. After the roar she once against urged her dragon forward, as a few arrows came at her.




Malik

Meanwhile on the ground very near to Rae’s little scene Malik sat or rather leaned against a tree. He also drew some amusement from the alarms and arrows the elves nearby shot at her. They would be of no effect; he had actually met her before and chopped her to pieces thinking she was a vampire, she simply regenerated, that meeting had happened a little over two hundred years ago. Though he was a little saddened when he thought of the reaper she had looked as though she had barely made it past twelve or thirteen, before she became one, and to become a reaper he guessed one had to die. Still it was odd she would show herself, wouldn’t it be simpler to hide herself until she could get to the person? The reaper must have her reasons. He could tell her dragon was heading towards the castle, perhaps the princesses number was up. Malik had helped the royal family in the past,, if the reaper was after the princess he would at least like to be there to see the end of the family line or save the princess if he could. He stood up, his leg muscles tensing; he took a running position, his legs tensing up even more. Then in a blink he was gone running across the ground, he would get to the palace after the reaper but hopefully with some time.

Ai laughed slightly, a cold laugh. "Right..." She turned her head, loking away from Chrono. "I hate those dwarfs..." she mumbled quietly, and looked up as the doors to the throne room opened. "Don't tell me you didn't find any assassin..." she said, looking cold at her body guard who came running into the throne room, and then relieved bowed as she saw Ai on the throne.

Malin saw the reaper a bit away, heading towards the cacstle, when she was landing with her dragon. She ran inside, hurried up to the throne room to make sure she came before the reaper. She wasn't sure the reaper was after the princess, but she needed to be sure. When she came up to the throne room, she relieved saw the princess on her throne, and bowed before approaching the princess, kneeling before her. "No, I found one. The only one who will be able to fulfill this mission, but it will be hard, and he wants to be payed with at least 2000 gold pieces."

Chrono quickly grabbed malin, dragging her to one side. he looked at her frowning. "You hired HIM didnt you, I thought we agreed not to use him. After what he did.", he hissed at her, his expression was now shifting into a cold, evil look. He didnt wait for a response, he apologised to the princess, dragging malin through a door. before turning to face her, his face now showing the only expression he rarely showed, rage.

Ai frowned. Why was he taking her away? She stared cold at the door from which they had disappeared behind.

"I did," she whispered, so the princess wouldn't hear her. "He is the only one who is absolutely certain to succed with this. It's hard to get to the dwarf leader, and even harder to kill him. The dwarfs hate when people come into their country, and will kill as soon as possible. You won't get even in a ten kilometer radius from where he is without getting killed. Only one person is capable to succed with this, and that is him!" she was still whispering, she princess' hearing was perfect, and she would hear everything if they didn't whisper.

Chrono grabbed her again, his teeth barred, "I dont care. For over 300 years i have served this family, stripped of my power and honor. You know that as well as anyone, and only because ive only ever told you. But if anything was to happen, if the princess was come to any harm because of this. I will kill you, you understand. It will be your life i drain.", He was still furious, but he decided against confrontation for now. he barged past her, putting on his calm face again, before exiting the door to the throne room. "Im sorry princess.", he said bowing.

Ai looked cold at him as she slowly rose from her throne, and even slower approached him. When she came up to him she slapped him hard. "Don't ever drag someone away while their talking with me. Ever again! You understand?" She turned her back to him, walking back to her throne, and sat down. "I hate it when people does things like that!" She turned to her body guard who was standing in the doorway, looking at the scene in the throne room. "Tell him he'll get payed as much as he wants, as long as the dwarfs doesn't get inside of my treasure chamber before he kills their leader!" She wasn't furious anymore, but she was still really mad.

Malin walked out from the room after Chrono had left, right in time to see the princess slap him. She bowed to the princess and got out to her dragon, ordering the dragon to find Beilin. She found him after a while, and got as close as she could. They would have to scream to each other if they were going to hear. "The princess asked me to tell you she'll pay you what you want as long as you kill the dwarf leader before they get inside her treasure chamber." she screamed to him.

Rae arrived Swifter than the message it seemed, as there was no welcoming committee of any kind, though, not that she expected to be welcomed but there also wasn’t a bunch of archers to deter her from coming, well for now. As she got closer she could hear the bells and shouts, they had taken notice, or perhaps the message had finally gotten there. She could now see the outer guards scrambling not knowing what to think, perhaps the princess was to busy to tell them what to do, or perhaps she was going to hide herself away, fearing that Rae had come for her, which wasn’t true, she had come for another’s soul. Though mortals always believed that she had come for them, they could be so self centered. She flew over the outer wall, the guards still seemingly unsure of what to do about her.

She landed the dragon in the courtyard before the actual keep of the palace, she couldn’t exactly go in with the dragon and she didn’t quite want to dismiss it just yet. She looked down from her dragon to see the people still scrambling, had they not told the princess, they really should.

” Tell you mistress she has a guest waiting for her outside!” She said trying to sound intimidating

Ai looked up at the servant who had appeared at the door to the throne room. "M-mylady, y-you have a g-guest waiting o-outside..." he said nervously. He was new, and had heard horrible stories of what she could do when being in a bad mood. She looked cold at him. "Take him or her in here!". She had heard the bells and the souts from outside, and understood there was probably a reaper. If not, everyone wouldn't shout like this. The servant bowed and ran outside to show the guest to the throne room.

Malin looked back over the shoulder as she heard the bells, her eyes widened. "P-princess..." she gasped worried and turned the dragon around, hurrying back to the castle. Why had she gone so far away, she wouldn't be able to get there in time.

Chrono stood up, he knew the air surrounding the guest outside. he frowned again, RAE YOU IDIOT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE, he walked over to the princess again, standing at the foot of the stairs leading to her throne. he gave a nervous look in her direction, mouthing to her to let him do the talking. he returned his gaze to the front. waiting for Rae.
