Inspired by that Sisterly Advice thread, except in this one I had in mind all of us give out one or two pearl of wisdom for the rest of us. Could be something deep and philosophical like how to approach life or the most basic of advice you can offer.

I'll start out with; always carry change with you. Nothing feels worse than receiving a bunch of coins when you could've instead gave coins and received a nice cold bill.... :)

And when you tell someone you're gonna meet them up at a specific time, always give yourself 10 or 20 more minutes than you would normally think. Despite all odds, somehow you will end up late.

If you have very poor time-management skills, try seeing where you do many things in one area. For example, if you sit on your bed and are on the computer totally not talking about myself but you obviously still need the bed to sleep. Sometimes while trying to fall asleep on that bed you'll end up thinking about what you did on your computer still not talking about myself *innocent whistling* and you'll have trouble sleeping... I'm such a restless wreck, ignore me lol

Getting too much sleep is just as bad as not getting enough. Well, not always, but it can be. If you take naps in the day, try cutting them down to 10 minutes or so rather than an hour nap, you'll wake up more refreshed than if you took the hour-long one. I'm not sure how it works, but it does. It works for me and it works for my mom.

Smelling good is just as important as looking or acting good when trying to get and/or keep a job.

Modern technology gets smaller. Modern technology gets pricy-er. Buying smaller technology = Paying more for said technology. If it's not better than something that's not as recent but costs less, don't waste your time with it just because it's more recent. It also helps to know what you're looking for. My cousin goes through maybe 3 cell phones a season, because the newest ones are too focused on "features" than durability.

I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

In my most recent Point Caffe post I expressed one tip I find important, without regards to myself or any previous events but just in general:

If I were to die tomorrow, and you could only remember me for one piece of advice I gave please let it be this. Allow bad days. There are days you want to throw a fit, go back to your childish ways and vent, bitch, complain, and throw your imaginary toy in rebellion to the world. You don't want to rationalize, you want to release. But hardly do you ever want to be the subject of such a tantrum, correct? Please, if you ever see someone do this to you consider some things. Is this person a generally helpful or nice person? Has this person had your back many times, stuck up for you when you felt you were right, gone out of their way to support you and be your friend? If so swallow your pride sometimes. If this person is treating you like shit for the day, suck it up, as hard as it may be. Chances are they'll come back later and apologize. And they'll thank you for allowing them to vent. After all, they vented to you because they are most comfortable around you. And chances are after they apologize they will explain why they were so shitty to you. And maybe one day after that when you decide to have your own bad day they'll allow themselves to be your emotional punching bag. This right here is what has defined my best friend and I, who I still owe a lot to.

Try to make an effort to keep in contact with your friends, even if it's just saying hi occasionally. You might end up regretting it later if you let yourself become distant from them.

And avoid procrastinating if you can. You just end up more stressed later. x_x

Oh, and I second what Rainbow Neko said about using the computer, I find that I can't fall asleep if I use the computer right before bed D:

Not in a rebellious way, but I find faults with both of those tips Valerius. The first one only applies to those who hold friendship important, and really not everyone does. And the second is a vague tip, I'm sure people know that procrastination is not productive or healthy, but the tip would be how one would go about avoiding it.

Unnecessary rant approaching..

I've never really been into a general "life tip" thread since many tips are conflicting or cliche and generic. (If you're ready to hop on my own thread as a rebuttal I'll specify that) I always make sure to specify in my own thread that's it's all my opinion and not meant to be held highly. I think individual perspectives work better than general tip threads.

If you want to purify the air or get rid of odour, cut open an onion and leave it out for a day.

True most tips are one's we heard before, which is why I made mine so mind numbingly mundane and obvious. And how someone takes someone's advice is entirely up to them, I'm sure some people would appreciate Valerius idea of keeping contact with one's friends. I sure do in some occasions.

But if I put a warning up top to take everything said with a grain salt, would that be better? :D

Actually, I think that'd be great. But I have no authority here, so don't feel the need to adjust the thread just because I didn't really agree with it. But I'll admit that's something I'd like, it'd lessen the idea that these tips are good for the majority of people. Thanks ^_^

Drink a lot of warm water when you feel like you've caught a cold.

I suck at giving tips I know

"That's why Youtube is the largest entertainment site.
Not only the videos are a form of entertainment, but also the comments have their own genre.
There's drama, comedy, horror, suspense, thriller, zombie (comments that are just plain brainless), action, and even motivational (ones that provoke you to do something, punching babies included)"

^shouldn't do it after like 7pm, or you'll be running your ass to the bathroom all night.

Speaking from experience!

If you can't get to sleep or just wish to clear your head, sit up straight and breath in, pushing your stomach out, and hold it. Let it out a second later and repeat.

If you don't like airplane rides, once you've landed and settled take off your shoes and socks then walk around bare foot and make fists with your toes. DIE HARD.
Love that movie.

I'll show you mine if you show yours
