Myers-Briggs Indicator Personality Type Identification

Do you believe we can label ourselves with such standardized personality types? Or do you think some people can waver between such qualities that they can't be confined to one type?
I personally think the Myers-Briggs Indicator system holds a lot of truth, and is practically near to perfectly accurate, save those who may have personality disorders and such. I suggest you take a free test for yourself, I was doing a lot of research on it today and I find it very helpful and interesting to look into one's personality type.

Mind you, I don't think one test alone will perfectly identify anyone, I doubt the success rate is 100%, even for those who truly answer honestly. If you think it's not exactly correct, try looking for other free versions of tests based on this system, and see what you get for results.
Once you get a result, find your type here and read into it.

How accurate do you find it? Do you find personal growth tips helpful, and your strengths fairly precise? Ultimately, would you suggest the Myers-Briggs Indicator to someone looking for answers to some of their own social and behavioral shortcomings?

Always been an INFJ. And that article is pretty spot on about me, but this even more:
Quote
Because the INFJ has such strong intuitive capabilities, they trust their own instincts above all else.
Like, holy shit. I do believe in my gut feeling, that thing never lies to me. My intuition is pretty sharp as well. When it feels something is wrong, it's 99% of the time right. I can't even begin to explain how it works...
Quote
Especially with the bolded. I hate conflict. I'm terrified of myself getting angry. And I always have a horrible habit of keeping all my problems to myself, which has led to my pretty fucked up stomach complications. :/
Quote
I am very VERY faithful to my morals, beliefs, and ideals. I try to do what always feels right, which is going with my gut feeling. And I rarely go against these.

Honestly though those portraits are very through but I suggest learning more about individual functions and how they work in YOUR personality type. One JUST isn't defined by the category in Meyer-Briggs! That lies in the behavioral functions : D! Does that make sense? XD I'm trying to say ENFP has the behavior of Ne→Fi→Te→Si, Ni→Fe→Ti→Se. The Wikipedia articles on each type gives good insight on the functions and I also suggest looking for articles on one's own functions!
Also I'm Curious! How about we post our own types too!! I'd be very interested to see the proportions of people as ENFP, INFJ, ESFP, ect. in VocaloidOtaku! Maybe a poll on this? c:

Yeah, on mypersonality I got ISFP and on this one I got ISFJ. I think i like this one a little more, though.
Here
Some points I think are true about myself:
There are also a few ISFP stuff I think describes me pretty well:
But obviously like you said, it isn't 100% accurate and I think I take up little components from each one, neither of them are perfect in describing me but they do hold a lot of truths.
But I don't know, I think these types of tests are interesting and all but I don't think or care much about them. It's a bit silly to me.

Nice to meet you :3
I'm an ENFP, and I found practically all of it to be very true to some if not full extent. From parenting to weaknesses. Though I can say around last year I began to improve myself on my own. If I were to take this portrait of an ENFP at an earlier stage of my life, such as 16, I would say some things fit more. As I read through the personal growth I noticed some things I've already done consciously to improve myself. I think it's interesting to put these pages into perspective at different ages of your life, not just how you are now.
And I totally understand the wanting to know what your friends are, and then the shhh and everything xD We seem to always seek understanding, and find a lot of meaning in life.
Right now the biggest aspect I saw that I've been trying to work on is taking criticism objectively, and not as an attack to my character or insult to my values. I know how to do this, I need to get into the habit of actually practicing it. Tonight I overcame something for the first time, it really is an internal battle, but I literally took a deep breath and learned to let go of a screw up I made (I spilled some soda in this guy's car, and he was just telling me to forget it. I felt so much guilt bottling up quickly, but I tried to take it objectively. He seemed really calm, and if he's saying forget it, I need to forget it. Why this seemed like such a huge obstacle I don't know, but the moment I did I felt so much tension released.)
Long rant I know, but yea, just some of my own insight on this. For a topic so subjective this system is pretty well thought out and fairly accurate in its own right.
Also, second poster mentioned rarity of these personalities. I found them here:

And if you didn't guess from that sentence, I've been continuously receiving INTP as my type, though I have yet to take the full test. However, I find that it fits well for the majority of things I do, and does explain some of my quirks, especially the "Over analyzing" and "Never stops thinking" parts, coupled with my inability to function in many social situations (Hence the Introverted). That I can also whittle away hours researching topics which fascinate me and have very little time for that which does not only adds to this, however I do not at this point believe that the test can be indicative of one's entire personality.
Some other points I find match my personality (Quoted from the source as well as my other findings):
TLDR: I analyze. Everything. And I'm good at it, however it is at the expense of my emotions most of the time, which I feel often get in the way so I do not mind much. However, this process of ignoring them can cause me to become overwhelmed and I sometimes exhibit signs of emotional breakdowns, though these often fade as soon as I have had some rational thinking time to compose myself. I also have very little patience for those who are ruled by emotion (such as my best friend) and can become easily irritated with them when they cease being rational.
Other characteristics I have noticed in my habits and social interactions which are said to be those of an INTP:
Still, as I stated earlier, I do not believe that these are completely accurate (in a similar vein to astrology) however I find it interesting and when examined may have some relevance (Again, similar to astrology, however I am only referring to sun signs traits in this. While some Virgo traits may match up well for me, I understand that others may have different experiences regarding this (Also it's amusing). And there I go again, abusing brackets.)

Nice to meet you too! :3 you're the first ENFP I've met! The closest I've came was my ENTP friend but still xD!
And good job!! I know how tough that is and it really is a struggle taking things objectively! God, I wish we didn't take things so to heart! :c Curse and bless our need to please! xD

When I got my result, INFJ ( introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, Judging), I felt like it fit me to a T.
Just a little blurb from Wiki~
INFJs are quiet, private individuals who prefer to exercise their influence behind the scenes. Although very independent, INFJs are intensely interested in the well-being of others. INFJs prefer one-on-one relationships to large groups. Sensitive and complex, they are adept at understanding complicated issues and driven to resolve differences in a cooperative and creative manner. INFJs are one of the rarest of the MBTI personality types, accounting for 1–3% of the population.
When I read that, I was amazed at how well it described me.
While I'm here...

What I am now, for some reason, is ISTJ. I don't know what changed... 0.o;;
But, a lot of points about ISTJ seem to describe me.

Yep.

Ooh, yeah. XD

DAMN yes. I have a tough time working in groups because if things aren't done a certain way and in a timely manner, it ticks me off something fierce!
...I can't sit here and copy and paste the entire thing, because that's exactly what I'd be doing. Holy crap, this describes me (recent me) so well, it's not even funny.
I've even found this part to be true especially as of the past year or so:
...@.@;; Damn. That's creepy.

Apparently I'm creative and intelligent, and I make a great friend. But on the downside I tend to relate everything that happens with someone to myself and try to analyze it through my own eyes, in stead of trying to see things through theirs.
I don't think you can really categorize everyone into a certain "type", but it can sketch a global image of who you are, what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you may be able to change about yourself.
Overall, the personality described fit me pretty well, though there was an excerpt about spirituality. I don't see myself as a spiritual person at all.

...
...*cough*
I must ask, my fellow INTJ, of what science do you speak?
Remember, there is a science to all things, not just that which is found in a lab.
I've also heard INTJ be called 'the Innovator' or 'The Commander' before, if that helps, but it was in an off hand course, so don't apply too much to it.
-------------------
Myeself, I am, obviously INTJ, according to the short test.
Yet I've somehow ended up with INFJ before on a long test before, but INTJ fits me better, imho.
...
Strikingly enough actually, considering I'm currently metaphorically sitting on plans for an commonly-assumed-unprovable perpetual motion device, not so much to drive it to all possible extents but merely to bring closure to a life long pursuit...
While simultaniously discussing running for president in 4 cycles due to the fact I see this country bailing unless something changes...
