Hey guys! I thought I might post what I've been doodling recently : D

I'll start off with what prompted me to create a thread, which is my Sweet Ann and VY1 Mizuki re/designs. I'm planning on buying these two (NOTHING WILL STOP ME, NOT EVEN COMMON SENSE) and I figured I'd better get a head start on their illustration! I'm still in the concepting stage. While everything here is still pretty prototypical there's still a bit of refining to do. I'll gladly accept criticism, though!

These were all done with pencil. The coloured bits are done in watercolour and pen/ink. If they look weird it's because I haven't got the knack for adjusting scanner parameters XD

Anyways, onwards we go!

^^^^^^^^^^^Here's my Sweet Ann! I tried to find a nice balance between her boxart, her Taiwanese redesign, and the dark-skinned (tan american?) version of her that I see floating around.

^^^^^^^^^^And here's Mizuki! I'm still trying to figure out what hairstyle to give her, and I still need to google up some japanese people before I finalize her facial features (I seem to forget how to draw almond eyes every few months) but I'm pretty happy with her outfit.

I think maybe I should buy some new brushes...round brushes can be kind of a pain sometimes. Or maybe I'm just not handling it right? Hmmm. I'm still screwing around with settings on my scanner, too. I think I'm getting a better handle on things? Maybe?

^illustration of Xiang-Ling for my Secret cover. I ended up recycling my Mizki design, unconsciously. I actively plagerized the composition from an actual playing card...care to guess which one? By the way, PAINT TOOL SAI. WATERCOLOURS. YESSSSS. I mean, there's definitely an array of things I could have painted/programmed more betterly BUT WOW, YES!!

...is also how I felt when I discovered there's another 'loid that I could render in pink : P

^this is IA on a Vespa. She's a mod mod (because on VO, the sprites for moderators are...and mod fashion is kind of like...yeah, haha.)

^here is a quick picture of Leon that I made, for something that I will probably never upload : P It's a silly thing, I was windows movie maker-ing for it but then gave up halfway through because it was TOO SILLY. If you ever see this picture on one of my videos, then be prepared to be underwhelmed.

^Finally, here's my...fanloid? OC? haha, okay, how bout Miriam-inspired? character for my song contest song. I've had this idea for a while....the earlier concepts were a little more, how you say, bestial? She looks far less eccentric here. But I won't consider it a failure, because the expression was good for a video.

Also, I did the inking and stuff in real life =w= I wonder how it would have looked without the pencil lines? I would have erased it, but I didn't want to smudge the lines, and I am so bad at inking you'd never believe it without evidence for your eyes XD (Well, it's more like a deficiency in penciling, at the root of it.)

I find your style really fun, inspiring, and fluid. Like a picture type of animato. My faves are your quick really cute drawings. ^^;

do you ever draw nekkie people in class? or in public? > .> wanna have an art trade?

as for critique, have you heard of 30 second poses / posemaniacs.com or something like that? it's a Japan-based but English written website. there's a timer for custom settings and references of poses with people without skin, so poses or anatomy are at play. :D
