Her vocals sound off-key to me, most noticeably around :25 but the whole thing sounds off. I ain't an expert, though.
Otherwise, I think this is lookin' pretty good!
I'm not sure about a deadline, but if it's polished up and pretty by then, that shouldn't be a problem :/

YT Listing and Soundcloud (so that you may assess where I am musically), my vocaloid drawing/redesign thread (So that you can assess where I am, visual-artistically), I'm likely to have not updated either since 12/30/2012 and now you know what to expect from me 8 |

Thank you for the replies.
I'll make this quick:
So I'm almost done with lip-sync.
I need someone suggestions on Miku's animation.
There will be a 20 second or so interval in the video thats shows just Miku's on the stage singing and nothing else.
Should I have Miku dance? If so how?
or should I just have her stand there singing and use some clever camera panning to keep the audience entertained? ( I've seen this work in some animes )
I prefer the latter because of the nature of the song, but what do you think?
I'll continue working on the song only after I received the whole translated lyric from my friend, don't want to edit it little by little.

I think the latter would work well. Maybe some little movements like swaying, lowering her head, etc. would help it look more natural and interesting, but I'm not sure how difficult that would be to create in MMD.

@Kit Wistful: Okay then, I'll go with your idea. And such subtle movements are not difficult to make. Movements in my opinion are not hard to make as long as you have a nicely skinned model, know how you want your character to move, know when to move it and a computer that doesn't lag.
I'm currently working on the cameras. Okay, a little info: This song is about Miku singing about the impending end of the world. You could say she's reciting the prophecy.
The PV and song is divided into 4 distinct parts. In the PV, you'll see the opening, Miku singing on stage, Miku watching a meteor, Miku confronting Zatsune.
Now, while I figured out how the 3 latter part will play out. I don't know what to make in the opening. So I hope you'll give me some suggestions. The opening lasts about 10 seconds and no characters have come into play yet. I have considered doing a scene of the audience traveling through the clouds or a view from orbit and even a celestial terrace but I'm not sure yet.
So, a bit of help?
PS:: Currently, there are some problems with the lyrics. So, the PV will mostly certainly finish first.

Latest updates!
#1
The April 7 release date has been postponed to April 15 because I need new VO to help me on the view counts.
#2
The PV has been completed and I think it looks decent.

#3
The song is now in BETA and it is still subject to edit. Please comment.
Listen on Soundcloud.com
#4
I know as a first time uploader I'm not expecting a lot of views but I was wondering if you could help me out a bit so that it doesn't end up being a total flop.
Here is what I have in mind if you agree, I would message you with a link to my video as soon as its online and maybe you could spread it around to your friends.
I really hope you could do this out of good will and for our common cause to make Vocaloid more popular. Thank you.
#5
If you're curious, I'm currently working on some miscellaneous like signature, avatar, covers and stuff. Possibly even a short trailer if I have time.
#6
If you don't have anything particular to comment about the song, at least give me a score out of 10 to let me know how satisfied you are.

- opening felt a bit long.
- when the second instrument came in it was beautiful ;o; the....strings? are they strings? guitar? It sounded pluck-y.
- not happy with that Miku. She still sounds off-key to me....
- I think that once the song's done beta-ing it'll be WONDERFUL
- song overall felt a bit short...not a problem, I don't think, and I don't think much can be done at this stage, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I don't feel I can fairly rate it...I'd say the rating would be 5/10 but only because Miku sounds very off. Otherwise I really love it...feels like I'm being told a story, it has a cool narrative or orchestral quality to it. Also dark Miku has a bow and arrow? Bad ASSSSSSS it gives me an impression of a greek mythological thing...very cool.
I'm looking forward to the release, I just...that Miku! @_@

I'm going to also give this beta song a 5/10.
It still sounds as though it has quite a ways to go to reach its full potential.
Here's some feedback that I hope you'll find constructive from one producer to another:
Now that I've covered what could use improvement, I'll move along to what I really liked about it.
Hopefully you found this helpful. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Also, if you don't understand some of the points I raised (because I'm terrible at describing things in short hand) feel free to PM me, and I'll be happy to explain anything in more detail.
It still sounds as though it has quite a ways to go to reach its full potential.
Here's some feedback that I hope you'll find constructive from one producer to another:
- The song could greatly benefit from more variation in it's structure. As of right now, it's simply "A B A A A" Perhaps a variation such as "A B A B A C A" or "A B A A C B A" would help it become stronger, composition wise, and be a little more stimulating for the audience.
- The vocals need work. Throughout almost the entire song Miku sounds a little flat, and for the "B" variation, starting at 1:04, she's quite noticeably off key. She could also benefit from some parameter editing to put a bit more emotion into her voice. Some more extensive vocal mastering would also be a plus.
- The instrumental is sounding a bit... how do I put this, um unbalanced. It sounds as though everything is all coming in equally through both my headphones. You'd be amazed what a difference panning the balance of the drums(I guess those are NA to this instance) and different instruments can make in the quality! (Not crazy like all the way, but if you pan one instrument slightly to the left, and another slightly to the right, it really adds some dimension.)
- And finally, this is just a tiny concern, but if you are really serious about continuing to make original music, I'd suggest investing in some more high quality VSTs, since the instruments all sound very midi-ish.
Now that I've covered what could use improvement, I'll move along to what I really liked about it.
- All of the instruments went well with each other. They didn't clash, and were at a pleasant rhythm to follow along to.
- Miku is being used in a pleasant range. I appreciate that you didn't force her to sing on an insanely high octave. I think when you've finished editing the kinks out of the vocals, she'll sound really good and appropriate for the mood of the song.
- The screenshots from the PV are lovely. They really do look like you've spent a good deal of time on them.
Hopefully you found this helpful. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Also, if you don't understand some of the points I raised (because I'm terrible at describing things in short hand) feel free to PM me, and I'll be happy to explain anything in more detail.
Thanks for helping me reach 1000 views!

The intro is a bit too long, and you might want to edit miku more, add more breathiness possibly, and you need to tone down your instruments a little when Miku is singing, since it's hard to hear miku over the instrumental.
Overall, I love your PV, and keep on editing the voice, it still sounds good.
