Daisy looked at the scene around her and sighed. There were so many people crowded in the palace, and so many sick and weary. Yet another wave of refugees from the Mushroom Kingdom. Scratch that, the former Mushroom Kingdom. Ever since Bowser finally took over, it had been renamed the Koopa Kingdom.

It was tragic, really. Mario had actually been defeated, after so many victories. And Bowser had dethroned Princess Peach and turned her once beautiful kingdom into a nightmarish realm of death and horror. Luckily, Sarassaland had been out of reach, or so it seemed. There were hundreds of underground networks that refugees escaped into by dozens, coming to Daisy's domain. She didn't mind, she was glad to help, but there were so many.

Peach. What became of her after Mario's downfall? Daisy was sick with concern for her old friend, and for everyone innocent in Bowser's new home. It just wasn't fair! How all she could do was stay here, healing, when she should be stopping all of this. But as her reasonable set of mind told her(and she begrudgingly agreed), this was what she needed to do. Keep her own home strong.

So, she stayed. She could only pray for her friends...and for Luigi. He was the one she worried for the most. Gentle, cowardly Luigi, who was always protected by Mario. What became of him? Daisy shook the thoughts from her mind at that point. I'll think about it later, she thought, heading to an elderly refugee who was almost fainted. Right now, I've got work to do.

Yeah, I really hate cannon ships. Not only they shoot cannonballs for heavy damage to buildings and infantries, they're also usually naval units, which means they can only be attacked by other naval units. And boy do they destroy other ships easily. Flying units are safe from safe from them, but flying units suck at destroying mechanical units. Cannonships are way too OP, nerfs needed.

The green clad plumber, Luigi could only sigh in grief as he looked back at the warp pipe that let back to the once glorious Mushroom Kingdom. He was looking over the rest of yet another group of refuges that had just came out from the secret underground tunnels, Luigi himself battered and bruised because of the constant encounters from Bowser's minions. There was still many who where still trapped and under Bowser's rule he had to save as many as he could even without Mario around. Luigi was still not use to that whole reality that his brother wasn't around anymore.

Mario...his very brother who was defeated by Bowser himself, he saw his brother's untimely demise first hand as they where both trying to defend Princess Peach's Kingdom, tossing his battered body aside over a rocky cliff was all he could remember before falling unconscious. It was that encounter on Chocolate Island that would change the fate of the Mushroom Kingdom. When he was able to finally tell Peach of Mario's fate, she was sobbing in grief, shocked at first but her heart felt so much pain she couldn't bare to do anything, let alone organize the defense of the Mushroom Kingdom, that was a responsibility that Luigi had to force upon himself.

News of Mario's defeat spread like wildfire across the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, now it seemed nothing could stop Bowser from taking complete control. He did just that, seeding forth a massive army of Koopa minions to storm the castle and even Luigi himself couldn't hold them all off. He was force to quickly organize and evacuation plan that would send all the citizens to the neighboring kingdom of Sarassaland though the use of the warp pipes and secret underground tunnels. He had only wished he could of saved the Princess in Mario's place, however she had went missing during the Castle's siege.

Luigi did his best to block out those painful memories, shaking his head and sniffing a little has he slowly started to walk up the step's of Princess Daisy's castle, with his recent group of Mushroom Kingdom refugees. There was still many more sick, injured and homeless within the castle and supplies and space were quickly running low to support them all. He was more than happy when he saw Daisy herself tending to some of new arrivals already and leading them. Seeing her once again bought high spirits to Luigi's sadden heart. "I manged to find some more of them," the green plumber explained as he wiped the sweat from his brow. The wounds he had suffered were getting to him now as he winced in pain and leaned against the wall only to slump on the ground.

Daisy looked up as more refugees poured in, and an obnoxious feeling rose in her gut again, one of despair mixed with worry and brief anger, but it evaporated as soon as she saw Luigi. She got another to look after the little girl she was helping and ran to the plumber.

The hardest part of this whole Bowser incident was seeing Luigi like this. The loss of his brother had given him a heavy responsibility and a powerful legacy to uphold. Daisy examined him, slumped over and exhausted, and felt like crying. Daisy had never been one to cry, however, so she just got a hold of a glass of water and sat next to Luigi. "I'm helping you now," she said, squeezing his hand in support then making it hold the cup. "You must be thirsty. Rest for a while before you go again, okay?"

Luigi smiled halfheartedly as he felt Dasiy's touch and was quick to talk the glass of water and swallow it as it had easily quenched his parched throat. He wipe his mouth clean afterwards. "Ah....much a better!" He exclaimed out, the hint of his Italian accent showing. "Thank you, Daisy. Don't worry about a me. I'll get out there again soon enough." He was really scared to go back in all reality but he dare not show it in front of Daisy, especial when the entire former Mushroom Kingdom was counting on him now. It was a heavy responsibility that he now had to take.

Daisy felt a glimmer of a smile as she heard Luigi's accent. He and Mario had always had such interesting ones; at least it was one thing fate had left untouched. But in the accent, Daisy felt a feeling of fear in Luigi's voice, and knew that he couldn't go back in the fray yet. "It'd be best if you take a rest first," she said, motioning for some attendents to help him to the room he used back when he and others could visit easily. "You can go back as soon as your healthy." Daisy was more concerned about Luigi's mental and emotional state than his physical one at the moment, but as long as he could be okay, even she was willing to go down there. In fact, that wasn't a bad idea...

"I can't stay here for long, the Mushroom Kingdom needs me now....ouch..." Luigi grimaced in pain as his busied arm got the best of him and decided to not move from his spot instead. He was quick to finish the water before he said. "...ugh...I guess it can't be helped..." He felt kinda useless that he wasn't able to do anything in is current condition. If only he had a Mushroom or a Fire Flower things would be different, but now even those items where becoming scarce now with Bowser constantly on the hunt for these wondrous power-up items. Perhaps all Luigi needed was rest but he wouldn't have to do it so often if he only had help out there.

Daisy moved away, leaving a small kiss on Luigi's nose. "Thank you," she whispered, "for everything you've done." She walked past the approaching attendents and slipped into her own room. Going to her closet, she thought of how much Luigi had managed to do. If not for his help, many would still be trapped in Bowser's realm. And now that he had needed a break, someone else needed to assist. "I'm thankful, Luigi, I really am," Daisy said, pulling out a brown work suit she wore when going underground. Someone had to help out there, and she had been dying to leave for a while and do something. Now was when she was needed the most. Carefully, she started to change her dress into the uniform.

Luigi smile was bright as Daisy kissed and thanked him then when to leave his side to attend to other matters. He took this time to himself to rest up and slowly close his eyes for a quick nap. Whenever it was a dream or a quick thought, in his mind he was living back his past experiences with Mario and Princess Peach and all the fun times they had at the Mushroom Kingdom. Only those relived experiences didn't seem to last for long as it was quickly turned into a nightmare of sorts with Bowser's shadow looming over them and Mario and Peach being quickly swallowed by it and it was only a matter of time before Luigi himself was about to be overtaken by it. This quickly woke him up from his horrible nightmare with a loud scream that could be heard throughout the castle.

By the time Daisy was heading underground, she heard a bone-chilling scream. She knew she would have to investigate, but the people of the Koopa-no, Mushroom-kingdom needed her. She waved some more attendants over to find the scream's source, then slipped into the warp pipe, praying that she wouldn't end up meeting Bowser or getting captured along the way.

I wasn't long before one of Daisy attendants saw him as the green clad plumber woke up. "Master Luigi...are you alright?" The attendant was quick to ask him as Luigi was slow to get up on his feet.

"I'm...fine. Where is Princess Daisy?" He was quick to ask.

"She has already left thought the warp pipe to the Underground just minutes ago."

"Mama Mia!" He exclaimed out loud panicking a bit. He knew how dangerous it was inside with all those baddies in there, not to mention she was going at it by herself and Luigi was not fond of seeing Daisy doing anything so risky. "I gotta go after her!" He is wounds now healed a bit as he rushed towards the nearest warp pipe, getting a nice running jump as he hopped inside in pursuit of the Sarassaland Princess.

daisy trudged through the underground cavern, trying to avoid calling attention to herself. When she had wanted adventure like the brothers had, and now she saw how dangerous it truly was. It was a wonder how neither had died here. Daisy thought of Luigi, amd how he was feeling. Hopefully he wasn't the screamer, he was hurt enough..

Daisy stopped. Footsteps were sounding out through the chamber. She looked around wildly for a hiding place, them dived behind a boulder as some of Bowser's Koopas marched in. Instead of leaving, they stayed, as if on patrol. Daisy stopped breathing, and quietly started praying for her life and safety.

It wasn't too long before Luigi was deep inside the Underground, carefully navigating his way though the dimly lit caves. The sparkling glowing walls of the caves kinda reminded of the Vanilla Dome back at Dinosaur Land, one of his most epic adventures yet. But as he kept on thinking of this though it reminded him a lot about Mario so he did is best to shut his eyes and block out the thought.

Not too far in he peeked around the corner to spot a group of Koopa Troopas standing around as if they where on patrol and perhaps looking for something. Whatever they were up too, it was surely no good. Upon further inspection from his angle Luigi could see someone else hiding behind a large bolder, it was Daisy but she was dressed differently as if her purpose was to travel though the Underground herself. Not wanting to see the young Princess in danger, Luigi decided to grab a greyish block from at stack that was nearby, it was glowing rapidly in a rainbow-ish hue when Luigi touched it. Then he was quick to toss at one of the Koopa Troopas knocking him out instantly as it keeled over, and retreated back into its shell. Unfortunately, it got the attention of the other Koopas and saw Luigi, and they were quick to run after him. Luigi panicked and screamed out as he ran off hoping he was able to create a distraction for Daisy to escape.

Daisy heard a loud commotion from where the Koopas had been standing. She peeked out from over the boulder and saw Luigi attack one of them, then run away from the others. Daisy swallowed, then slipped out from her hiding place. Had Luigi seen her and launched a distraction? He had risked his life again, all because of her mistake. Now she felt absolutely worthless, and needed to return the favor. Looking around, she found a way how.She ran to the Koopa that had been hit and threw it at the other Koopas, yelling out, "Look out, Luigi!"

Luigi had heard Daisy's warring as the Koopa Troopas were all ruining towards him in a straight line for some reason and were catching up fast. He could see the Koopa shell come blasting towards him and he was quick to dive out of the way. Then the shell zoomed past all of the Koopa Troopas, knocking them all out instantly. He was quick to peak his head out from his arms and see Daisy still standing. "Wow-y! That was-a pretty slick move there Daisy!" Luigi grinned as he gave a thumbs up with his white gloved hand.

Daisy grinned, flipping her red hair over her shoulder. "All those sports paid off," she said proudly, walking over to him. "Thanks, though. I would've been dead without your help." She looked around in the cave, then at the shells. "Do you go through this all the time you're down here?" she asked, astounded. The green plumber was much braver than most people thought. Than she had thought, too. But being exposed to such times as this could do that to a person. "So...you're in charge. Where do we go now?"
