When you are creating an Utauloid, do you prefer slowly building up the bank by recording and otoing notes you need for a demo song, and add the notes you need for the bank as you make the bank sing more, or do you prefer to make the full bank and oto it before you even release it?

Keishi Bacheru claimed Rolling Girl- Haku Yowane version
"You know that geeky chick who's fun to get along with, though seems to stay away from everyone for dear life, unless you were a close friend of hers when she was young? Yeah, I'm one of those."

Well I've never tried to make my own voice bank because it would sound retarded as hell. (Male voices done by males just do not sound nice in UTAU. No matter how many I search for.) But my logically thought pattern would be first build the entire bank, clean it up, then make some demos, listen to the feed back, make some edits, and then release the bank.

My process usually goes:
-Record basic bank
-Try it out
-realize it's terrible
-fix everything
-make a cover
-realize it's still bad
-eventually have something you're somewhat happy with
-continue releasing songs slowly as you work out more kinks
-eventually get somewhat happy with it and release it
-realize it's still crap and continue working on it
And then somewhere down the line record sounds you need for certain songs and build up the rest of the bank.

I wouldn't want to hear a demo for a half-finished voicebank. That setup really only makes sense to build up anticipation. Unless you have a very large following (Like, the following for a Vocaloid or a Vipperloid) then I wouldn't recommend that approach.
YT Listing and Soundcloud (so that you may assess where I am musically), my vocaloid drawing/redesign thread (So that you can assess where I am, visual-artistically), I'm likely to have not updated either since 12/30/2012 and now you know what to expect from me 8 |
