well i initially thought he meant they were considering not doing a v3 english VB. but the question was asked and he denied that that was what he meant. he explained they were trying to justify doing english appends for her. so they may do it. but are considering not doing it.

and you have to remember google does not translate japanese well. a japanese person could probably extract all the real meaning from several of these posts. Google is just good enough to give us an idea of what they meant.

i am particularly interested in what he meant by there are (V3) related projects we have not disclosed yet. that may mean new vocaloids. and i bet a Japanese native could tell us more than google did.

i am also interested in the Kagamine V3 announcement and the question of an English VB for them. in google it appears unambigous. he said yes they were doing what the questioner asked about. but the question was compound and he may have only said yes to the V3 part for all i know.

so if any Japanese translator volunteers to translate these i would hope they concentrated on the luka posts, the kagamines post and the potential other projects post. :

Crypton is all bark and no bite at this point.

I'm happy Rin and Len are apparently getting upgraded but I'm displeased with the fact they just keep saying shit but not really releasing anything. At this point it rubs off to me like they think they don't have to release any new voicebank content to remain on top, which feels very egotistical and/or stuck up.

Ah, this is good! I'm glad that they're considering/working on Rin and Len (Google Translator translated "リン" as "phosphorus", which made me laugh) for V3. If all of the Crypton Vocaloids do get English, I'd be a very happy camper. Very happy indeed.

they are not just considering them for V3 it is decided and being worked on. the question is if Wataru's "yes" answer pertained to the second part of that question; English VBs. google makes it look like it was. i think it was. i think they are going english. have for a while as a matter of fact. it made no sense to have them be the only CFM vocaloid without it.

@byakuren: their pattern normally is to release at certain times of the year. i expect summer or fall releases en masse.

This is pretty much how I've seen it too. I mean, it's one thing to keep people in the dark to have that element of surprise, but it's been a really long while for Crypton. And well it wouldn't surprise me if they got a bit full of themselves with their previous successes.

Meiko: November 5 2004 (Autumn)
Kaito: February 17 2006 (Winter)
Miku Hatsune: August 31 2007 (Summer)
Rin and Len Kagamine: December 27 2007 (Winter)
Rin and Len Kagamine Act 2: July 18 2008 (Summer)
Luka Megurine: January 30 2009 (Winter)
Miku Append: April 30 2010 (Spring)
Rin and Len Append: December 27 2010 (Winter)

The only real 'pattern' they've had was Rin and Len's act 1 and append being released on the same day. They've had only two projects released in the summer (Rin and Len's act 2 was just a general apology to buyers because of their poor quality).
Miku Append came out in the spring.

I just find it a little bit funny everyone is always like "Expect it in the summer! Crypton releases lots of things in the summer!" when they really haven't. Just two projects, most of their stuff was in the winter and they haven't released a single new voicebank in well over a year now.
