Yamaha recently updated there product line up on Vocaloid.com to include Oliver, Bruno, and Clara who are now called the Overseas Vocaloid 3 products. There are still considered 3 party vocaloids like the previous engloids from vocaloid 2 but they now include a link back to PowerFx and Voctro Labs. However they are still not for sale on the Vocaloid shop itself.

It would nice if you could buy them from there but it sounds like a step in the right direction to me.

Well, since all the Vocaloids are available for download on their homesites, I guess it isn't necessary to offer them for download from the main store. It's just one less middle man. Although it is especially nice to see Vocaloid.com branching out.

Its a bit snarky but then again its written by me, what did you expect?

As part of our continuing coverage on Yamaha and the English version of Vocaloid.com we have breaking news. As part of their latest round of site updates Yamaha has finally gotten around to adding Oliver into their listings of Vocaloid 3s… just now… 6 months after his initial release.

In less pleasant news it seems Yamaha is continuing the distressing trend of discrimination by relegating the Engloids (and the Esploids, respectively) to a special “Overseas” corner of their website, further propagating the hateful “Us vs Them” attitude that has been dividing Vocaloid fans the world over.

Despite all this it is nice to see finally PowerFX getting proper credit. Preciously, on Vocaloid 2′s 3rd Party Products Page, though the Engloids were listed along their Japanese counterparts, Yamaha had only linked to PowerFX @ Crypton Marketplace and Crypton’s (more expensive) Japanese market product listings.

Thanks to sleepysheep7 for the tip!

I was talking to Sappokei about it and he asked an excellent question.

Where is SeeU?

She is listed neither on the main, nor overseas listing, but appears on several info-graphics.

I don't want to imply anything but seeing how Japan-centric Yamaha has been about Vocaloid.com Official's web team has been, I am wondering if they are letting their countries history get in the way of their professional relationship.

I think he meant that it's a bit weird SeeU's not on the 'Overseas Vocaloid' section. And that is a bit unfair.. XD;

You guys need to keep in mind SeeU also has a Japanese voicebank and you know how YAMAHA loves those.

Well SeeU does have a Japanese bank as well, so... Kinda makes sense that she wouldn't be there. :EDIT: Ninja'd xD

Speaking of which, I wonder how they define what makes a Vocaloid "overseas"? Is it a bank made anywhere that's not Asia, or just a bank that doesn't speak Japanese?

I'm gonna have to go with a bank that is made anywhere but Asia cause it makes the most sense but a very interesting question.

I honestly hate the fact that it was just because the Luo and SeeU had anime-centric roots for their avatars in the beginning and were emphasized being more in collaboration with Yamaha than the non-Asian centric ones. For chrissakes, Yamaha HAS SEVERAL HEADQUARTERS AND FACILITIES AROUND THE WORLD.
It's like the dunce corner of shame.
Either way, opinion aside, it's going in the right direction, and I'm glad it finally happened (still mad that I think that would be the only affiliation with them though...)

I wouldn't consider SeeU an overseas Vocaloid... since Korea is basically within a day's boat trip from Japan.

It would be nice if they were all together on the same list. :T

Oh but yes, of course, the Asian ones are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more important so lets make them more noticed. Desu.

I feel like Yamaha prefers the Asian Vocaloids over the "overseas" ones. Who were first? The Engloids. Were was Vocaloid initially made (where all the research was done)? Spain. But no. It seems as if they still care about the Asian ones more.
It's not that I'm new here and don't know how to get an avatar; I just don't want one.

Cannot blame them. The quality is better than engloids. The community is bigger. More musics are made with japanese vocaloid than engloids. They just want more money.
"The bassline has become so important that it even takes the place of lyrics. The bass speaks for itself and becomes the hook for the entire song."

"Punk was the bastardisation of rock music, and dubstep was the bastardisation of electronic dance music."

No. There are JP-loids who are just as bad as sonika. Ok so maybe not quite as bad, but there's bad ones in every bunch.

What's weird is that this is the ENGLISH site so emphasis on English Vocaloids SHOULD be used. They're promoting Vocaloids that don't speak the language of the site more than Vocaloids that are useful to the visitors.

"overseas"... Most of the people who are visiting the ENGLISH site are "overseas".
