Is there anyone here who didn't find out about Vocaloid though anime or other forms of Japanese pop culture? Or someone who has been a fan since the beginning

Is there anyone on this forum who didn't find out about Vocaloid though some form of Japanese pop culture? And is there anyone who has been a fan since the V1 era? I can't say this about myself since I found out about Vocaloid because I was into anime and I've only been a fan since mid 2010.

Yeah. I was playing a game one time and in one of the rooms you can suggest songs from a long list that can be played like a jukebox. One of those songs happened to be Po Pi Po. Needless to say, I delved deeper into what vocaloid was and look where I am today. ;)

In 2006 when Miku came out, My big sister Katie informed us about it. I was 7 at the time, and I thought she was this pretty anime girl at the time.
Around 2008/2009 I got serious with it. I knew what she was, and I'd explored the information on what Vocaloid really is.

How did people find out Vocaloid through anime? (っ*'ω'*c)
Few years ago, I saw a strange looking music video in a blog. It has attracted me to play it. The artwork was special. The melody was unique. The vocal.....has special effects? I have never listened anything like this before. The song left an impression on me, but it wasn't not enough to charm me. I didn't even bother to find out more about the song.
Half a year later, the melody suddenly replays in my mind.
P.S.
What do you mean you didn't ask me about all these stuff? -`д´-

...Am I the only one who learned it through Flipnote Hatena? I remember hearing Sin & Punishment in a random flipnote and falling in love with the lyrics. Such an emotional song.
Still, I didn't actually look it up until I (unknowingly) downloaded the Story of Evil and Spice.

Numerous people would try to explain to me what it was because it always seemed to pop-up. Anyways my friend who likes Hatsune Miku sent me a playlist of Vocaloid songs, all of them were Hatsune Miku except for one Kagamine Len song, New Millennium. It's funny, I didn't really enjoy Hatsune Miku in the beginning and I didn't even know who she was.

I found Vocaloid while searching for a 300+ year old musical piece. The Vocaloid cover is still my favorite version of that song.

There is a lot of vocaloid animations on Flipnote so I wouldn't be surprised if more were introduced like that.
I found vocaloid via cosplay 2008ish... so I guess I don't count for this topic though lol
but I remember someone on the forum talking about how a music preformance they went to had Leon as a singer.
