Voice Audition Competitions/Public Request Why Don't We Get Them?

Well I heard Zero-G put up and ad for Prima to search for the voice provider and that currently PowerFX is searching for vocalist so why not make competitions for them like i-Style did for Aoki Lapis and with what they're going to do with Merli? I mean you could probably find a few decent singers if you made them public in places like VO. The only thing that I really see stopping this is legal issues with revealing the voice provider but even then you guys could still make public request for singers without actually revealing the winners. So, what's stopping Zero-G, PowerFX, and VocaTone from doing this?

It does sound like a pretty great idea.
I'm sure that there were plenty of people on here who wanted to audition to the I-Style contest, but if PowerFX would have some contests like this, it would be easier.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get the news that PowerFX is searching for a new vocalist?

Email from PowerFX to SBR.
Hi Angel,
We are making another title in conjunction with Vocatone - we have been doing test with different vocalists to see what we should do next. Sweet Ann for V.3 is something we want to do but have not tarted anything. PowerFX main focus is Soundation Studio right now: www.soundation.com
There has to be a certain amount of time to make money back, doing vocaloids outside of japan are expensive to produce and we need time to sell before we can just make another.

Guess my memory failed me but it is similar, if they had competitions to search and test out new voices, also for Prima(in case you're wondering), I read that in VO.

That's not really saying that they need help finding a voicer, though. To be fair they probably would have reached out here because so many Vocatone people are on here and they've done stuff here before (the Oliver sale). They are a company, though and I'm sure they could find a voicer if needed. And as the email said it will probably be a while.
Although Miku-tan and Nano would be amazing choices if possible

I like this idea. In addition to Nano and Miku-tan, there are probably a lot of other great, popular singers outside of the fandom who think Vocaloid is cool and would probably audition for one if they had the chance and knew about it. Like Cristina Vee.

I wouldn't mind a voice audition.
Although I think instead of having an actual face to face audition, I think they would make send in raw samples of you singing, it would be a quicker and easier.

I would def. audition if I could. I was going to audition for Merli but I just wasn't comfortable singing in a "tsundere" voice (at least that's how they described how it should be).
But yeah, great idea

Seconding Christina Vee. I really like this idea, and I think a neat addition to it wold be to have a public vote (though that could lead to some unfair tactics).

I don't think PowerFX has the finances for something like this and Zero-G probably wouldn't be interested plus if you don't live in their area how would they collect your vocal samples (I mean they probably need to record with a mic of a certain quality and tell you how to pronounce things correctly)?
