Very confused! What are all Miku live concerts?

not sure if this is the right place to post this but to be honest, I seacrhed for quite some time and didn't know a better place to post it. Sorry if it's wrong.
I have been confused for a long time now over a chronological list of all live concerts/events where we could see a live projection of Miku performing songs.
I am really not sure because there does not seem to be a list like that, there are events organized by SEGA, some aren't and...I just don't know. For example, when I search for "Miku Live 2011" and found the Sapporo one, I thought for a long time, that that's the same like the Tokyo one. But apparently it's not.
So in general, I hope somebody can post a full list of all of them and maybe explain if it's by SEGA or whatever and what's the difference between them. Also maybe, if there is a BluRay. Would be HIGHLY appreciated.
I heard people talking over and over that some have better models, I think the ones by SEGA are...but I am just not sure.
PLEASE help me to understand all that! XD
Thanks in advance!
Kevin
PS: The main reason why I am asking is because I want to see ALL concerts and decide for myself what's the best in each category (setlist/models etc).

Well, the Wiki seems to have a pretty OK list, so you could probably follow that, roughly.

Thank you, that is a very good site for the start.
I really appreciate it, but I hope somebody can still explain in a bit detail of the difference.
Mainly, what is all the talk about the better models and stuff? What is the pro and contra of SEGA concerts maybe?
Just, more detail.
But VERY good for a start. Couldn't find that via Google.

Miiku 1st appearance was in Anisama 2009 as a guest artist. Performing Miku Miku ni Shite Ageru, and Black Rock Shooter. But its just shown onto an LCD display, not the projection that we know and loved today.
Then, in the same year, MikuFES 09 was held in August to celebrate Miku’s birthday. It’s also the start of the usage of projection tech that we know today, difference being MikuFES have 3 separate screen. Making Miku able to teleport. Some of the artists featured were Team MOER (OSTER Project, 19 Sound Factory, Doriko, OneRoom, Minato and one more IIRC) and Livetune. Also featuring 39’s String. Now I can’t remember who played the instruments here, but they do have guest artists
The 1st coherent, single screened, proper concert was held in March 9th 2010, in Tokyo. The legendary 2010 Thanksgiving (Kanshasai) was an effort by SEGA as a form of gratitude, as well of promotion for their Project Diva games. Little that they know, this turn out to be one of the biggest catalyst for the booming popularity of Miku, especially after the release of BluRay. Here also, The 39’s (Abe Jun- Keyboard, Shin Orita- Drummer, Kuroda Akitoshi- Guitar, Tanaka Shingo- Bass) makes their entrance. Now to be clear here, all things here was made by SEGA, with some involvement of MarzaAP and 5pb. If I’m not mistaken, MarzaAP with the Motion Capture data and SEGA using their own models, possibly from their Project Diva Arcade series (Can be seen during the Making of Daikanshasai 2012, where they tests Miku models on a Project Diva Arcade machine/ RingEdge arcade platform).
And here, correct me if I’m wrong, where things get a little bit rocky. It was said that SEGA and 5pb have some disagreement regarding the release of BluRay of 2010 Kanshasai that they basically split from their joint venture and 5pb decides to make their own concert, Mikupa.
Which brings us to 2011 39’s Live in Tokyo Hatsune Miku Live Party (better known as Mikupa Tokyo). Now I wouldn’t comment on the concert itself, you have to see for yourself how much 5pb takes everything that we love about 2010 Kanshasai and throw it away. Black box, awful camera angle, 30 minutes of interlude with ads bombardment…blergh. Although to be fair, the set list at the time was refreshing, guest producers is still present etc. Here, as they were doing it by themselves, they asked for help from MarzaAP for the Motion Capture data as well as the models used. It’s the 1st time we see the incarnation of the models that being used in Mikupa nowadays and possibly Project Diva f. Here also, we got to know the band for Mikupa, MKP39 (Suzuki Kei, Kinoshita Kouji, Monma Toshiaki and Matsuoka Yuuhei), although the members changes a number of times throughout the years
At the same time, SEGA, with the help of Toyota held Mikonopolis Live in Los Angeles on July 2nd 2011. This concert were based on 2010 Kanshasai, with some refinement on the models. The 39’s still performing here, as well as the inclusion of 39’s Strings (Which were seen 1st in MikuFes 09)
5pb also (Now known as MAGES) continue to make concerts in Sapporo (Mikupa Sapporo 2011), Singapore (Mikupa Singapore 2011) with significant improvement on the quality of the model used, as well as the effects. Sadly, this is also the start of the overkill effect usage used by MAGES till this day IMHO.
For 2012, both SEGA and MAGES decides to do 2 day back to back concert, with Mikupa on 8th March and Daikanshasai on 9th of March. Both features refinement to their models as well as the presentation. This is also the last Kanshasai concert by SEGA, so yeah, the end of a journey. 39’s performs for Daikanshasai, alongside 39’s Strings and 39’s Horn. Whereby MKP39 includes Nakamura Kouta from Mikupa Sapporo as well as Sachiko Wakamori, handling percussion.
From here, it’s all Mikupa team (Mikupa Taiwan and Hong Kong, Mikupa Sapporo 2013 and the latest, Mikupa 2013 Live in Kansai, 39’s 3rd Spring Synthesis)
For me, I personally prefer SEGA and team Kanshasai concerts, mainly due to the fact that they flesh out the Vocaloids more. They keep lighting to the minimal, keep effects to the minimal, more emphasize on the performance itself and the choreography. It also helps when there is less ghosting effects on Kanshasai performances. And plus, for me, the Kanshasai models are more lifelike, unlike Mikupa’s cartoony look.

Now I will watch all the concerts and compare it with this to get things straight.
Is there really no chance for SEGA to make a new concert by themselves?
And really, the two concerts in a row, the SECOND was from SEGA (with the sound fail of World is mine)? I love both concerts but always liked the FIRST better, was sure that had to be SEGA. Interesting!

Well all the best in watching the concerts. You can clearly see the progression of both team.
Yep, for last year, the 2nd day concert is from SEGA. It depends on your preference, nothing wrong with liking Mikupa's one, so don't worry :D
I just love the Daikanshasai one simply because it reminds me when the 1st time I watched 2010 Thanksgiving. So yeah, nostalgia kicks in. And I love The 39's to death. Not to mention, Kanshasai concerts are generally more coherent compared to Mikupa ones. Kinda like, looking more like a proper concert rather than a mashup of songs and light effects.
Sadly its the last Kanshasai concert from SEGA for sure (Daikanshasai was dubbed as Big/ Final Thanksgiving by SEGA)
Oh, before you get confused, Kanshasai= Thanksgiving.

I am not 100% sure, correct me if I'm wrong but I think the second day also has far more Oster Project songs and I've never been a huge fan of these to be honest (don't understand the hype for Love Colored Ward and Marginal etc...well, just not my taste).
Also, sure, they announced it to be the last, but it's never certain. Weird example, but after some movie produceres said they will make no sequel of some movie anymore, there are many examples of a change in opinion. So don't give up hope entirely! :-)
Do you think Mikupa and Miku live in general is likely to continue for a long time or will they maybe also stop eventually?
Well, I hope there will be a concert in Japan this September-October. Is there any chance for this? Why? I will be in Japan then! XD

I clearly remembered OSTER Project was featured more in Mikupa (Marginal, Koi Iro Byoutou, Colorful x Melody) as opposed to Daikanshasai (Koisuru Voc@loid).
I don't know much about what SEGA planning to do, but I do remember that this month, SEGA organised an event in Joypolis, Tokyo for Project Diva f with the voice providers (Fujita Saki, Asakawa Yuu and that Kagamine one...Asami Shimoda?) and The 39's. Its not a Miku live concert tho. Seems that SEGA still communicates with The 39's, so maybe a future concert doesn't seem too far fetched I suppose?
Judging from the latest Kansai concert...it'll be stupid of MAGES to stop making Mikupa concerts.
I dont think there will be any concert in Sept- Oct. Only Mikupa Sapporo 2011 and MikuFes 09 was held outside of March in Japan

So apparently I was mistaken, but I still like the setlist better.
And colorful x melody's an exception for me, I love that song! :-)
For the sound fail of World is mine...it's not in the BluRay release I think. Did they just add the voice later on? And what part wad missing? The voice for the ENTIRE song?

Oh, before you get confused, Kanshasai= Thanksgiving.
They both have their positive sides..
I totally agree with u.. I LOVE the 39s!! Music wise, the Kanshasai wins in every aspect. The little remixes n musical changes they make to the songs they play live just captivate me so much.. N to me, the band introductions are always the highlight of the Kanshasai shows.. (I love Mikunopolis band intro the most). The transition between songs are always really smooth too.
Visual wise, I prefer MikuPa tho (the 2012 version, not 2013!), despite the lightshow overload, I do feel it's more party like, not to mention there's more fan interactive songs, such as (Fire Flower, Musunde Hiraite Rasetsu to Mukuro *v*, n *Hello, Planet)
I really wish 1 day there'll be another Kanshasai concert..
P.S. off topic, but Colorful x Melody is not necessarily an OSTER song, as it's by Team MOER, maybe that's why u feel different about it, Kevin :P
I'm not such a huge fan of Marginal or Koi Iro Byoutou myself, but I do love watching n hearing OSTER project's piano playing.. <3

We have lots of people paying attention to the big news, but there are little news things like merchandise being missed all the time.
Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.

That's probably the reason! I don't know, the "normal" Oster project songs are just so...cheesy? Maybe I'm just stupid but it sounds that there are elements of jazz and I don't like that very much. Only exception I can think of: Summer Idol! It was the first Vocaloid song I EVER heard, it was the promotional video for Diva f, got me into the game and Vocaloid. That's why is also has some special meaning to me.
Like I said, I just prefer Mikupa 2012 over Daikanshasai 2012 because there are a lot more of my favorite songs. You know, you just can't top that if there are so many songs I like more in Mikupa 2012.

Really, there are even some impostant ones missing? Can you please say which ones and maybe give some web references?
Also, are there any events missed that have been released on either DVD or BluRay or better said any events that have been recorded?

All of the MikuPa and 39's concerts are on that page, but there are probably tons of other, both official and unofficial (as I tried to label them), that still needs to go up on that page.

Funnily, I love hearing OSTER project playing piano for that exact reason.. the jazz thing xD
I understand what u said coz I originally prefer Kanshasai entirely coz at that time as a Vocaloid noob I only new songs like World is Mine, Romeo & Cinderella, Melt, Ai Kotoba, Promise, Migikata no Chou, Meltdown, etc. (songs which introduced me to Vocaloid)
After watching the MikuPa Sapporo 2011, MikuPa 2012 Tokyo twice each, I started to fall for the MikuPa songs too <3
In fact, most of the songs that introduced me to Vocaloid, I'm already quite bored of em.. (Except Romeo & Cinderella, which up till now still my #1 favorite among the 500+ other Vocaloid songs in my iTunes)

I'd love to talk about that more! I mean, things like our favorite song. I know this is a message board, but I like talking to people individually about my hobbies, too. Probably best to continue talking further via PM.
Of course only if you don't mind!^^
You know, it's so fun talking about this, I know nobody who is intersted in all that in real life. :-(
