@ Charm: About the date thing.. That's what I meant too, on the calendar XD I never check it with an "x" when I get my period etc. etc. LOL.
Also, methinks that your friend watched too many phoney doctor shows or something :/

Ah well, I know that gynecologists are nothing scary, but we're in this adolescent age that sex, gynecologist, penis.. Everything is all "OMG NOTHNXPLZ" or something. And we also sometimes act more immature than 5 year olds. =w= But, with time, we teenagers get to our senses.

Not in peace and not in war
I believe in nothing
But the truth and who we are

I just got off my period. Hurray!

I was in 7th grade... I think. I can't remember. :I

I was at home when I got it. I had to pee, went to the bathroom, sat down, then the smell it me. I remember screaming for my mom like a baby, but my little sister came instead. "What's wrong? What do you need?" "MOM. I. NEED. MOM. NOW." When she came, instead of giving me a pad, she asked if I wanted to use a tampon. "No. Not... not yet. ;A;" Last time I used a tampon, I must have done something wrong, because the pain hurt so bad, I thought I was going to die. Now I just use pads. I'm use to them anyway. :x

I didn't start getting the cramps until a few periods ago. And damn do they hurt. I use to not mind my period, but now I loathe the day I get my period.

I first got my period when I was 12, I think. I don't have any super dramatic story at all. I woke up and saw blood on my bed and on my underwear and thought "Oh. Oh great, I'm getting my period, aren't I?" so I ran off to tell my mother and she kept trying to explain it to me, though I was already fully aware what it was and that talk ended with "Yeah, yeah. I know. I just want to know where you keep the pads." I got my pads and left. Then since my period hadn't regulated yet I sat in bed for two weeks in agony from the horrible cramps, though now I don't get cramps at all. I get migraines.

Though, unlike most women I am not particularly bothered by my period. If my migraines get too bad then I take Midol and that solves pretty much all my issues. I only get bothered when my father decides to have me run errands with him on the first day of my period. Puts me in the mood to kill.

I honestly don't care. Apparently periods are meant to regulate the blood in the body, to keep the blood healthy, and to get rid of old and nasty blood that no longer carries oxygen (I have no clue why I know this when I'm only 13, mind you.) Not only that, but mine are very light, I rarely get them. They last for about 2 and a half days, and then they leave for about 2 or 3 months. Of course, I freaked out about it, because when I got my first few periods, they lasted FOREVER and they came back every other week >.> So yeah, I thought I was... well, not sick, but, kinda sick... you'd know that feeling if it happened to you like that. XD The only part that bothers me about it is that men don't get it. So... 1) How are they still healthy? and 2) Why the hell do we have to go through it while nobody else does ;A;

I'm also not fond of the 'women in the same area start their periods around the same time.' Okay, so it wasn't time for me to start my period. But I went to sleep over at my cousins', my aunt and my grandma were on theirs. Guess what happened when I woke up the next morning?~ There was blood on the couch, because that's where I was sleeping.

That's another thing, too. Why do they always start at night! I never really get a warning when mines about to start, only based on time. So I wake up, go to the bathroom, and... HOLY CRAP! Yeah, I'm gonna stop there...

I don't get alot of periods from late spring to early autumn. I only get a period once or twice in the summer, and those are shorter than my normal periods. :3 Meanwhile, my mom tells my dad to buy chocolate, and when I go to get some an hour later, they're all gone. Which can only mean one thing... oh wait, my dad and brother ate them all. Never mind! jk, usually my mom will eat the most when she's on her period while everybody else gets 2 or 3 pieces. So if I don't get alot, and my mom gets half the bag to herself, yeah, I think we all know what's going on.

And unlike most people, I crave fish on my period. Not chocolate, not icecream(although icecream helps the freaking cramps, I eat icecream and I don't get any cramps for 3.5 hours, I easily recommend it X3 Smoothies help too. Anything soft and freezing that is an edible solid helps.), just... fish and poultry... I know, I'm weird. But we all are, in one way or another.

Some day, I shall have an awesome signature, and everyone will know that it's mine... that day isn't today.(Might be soon, at this rate!)

I got mine when I were 13 when I were home alone. So I went down to the story to buy pads ~~end of story~~ ^^

I think I'm pretty lucky when it somes to my period it's a very small amount blood that comes and it just leasts(?) in like four days. And best thing I next to have no cramps at all! (maybe that's because I don't train) So for me the period is something that I gladly could skip but it's totally ok ^^ (Also I have my trix ^^)

Actually, periods happen because you're shedding the lining of your uterus. It happens because you haven't been impregnated and you're getting rid of the unfertilized eggs. That's why when a woman misses her period and she is sexually active they generally go to take a pregnancy test. You won't shed your lining if you are pregnant.

Blood circulates in your body which is the difference between arteries and veins. Arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry un-oxygenated blood. Un-oxygenated blood is oxygenated by your lungs and sent back around your body and repeats.

@ Minomino: sycophancying (I don't know if I spelled it right, so..) Anyway, it means kissing in someones butt just to get something or not getting hurt. :3

I think the word you're looking for is "sycophant."

Anyhow, I suppose you'd have learned that next year in science anyhow.

Actually I skipped fifth. Already in high school, and from all previous sources that I've asked, including my own doctor, they say it's to regulate the blood.

I learned in science when I was in 8th grade so I don't know when you'd learn it, then.

"Your ovaries release or let go of one egg about once a month. If the egg does not become fertilized by male sperm (read more about reproduction), the egg and the lining of your uterus (endometrium) drain out of your vagina as your period. If the egg does become fertilized by male sperm (from sexual intercourse), it will attach itself to the lining of the uterus and grow into a baby."

I think I'm a lucky person, because my period hardly hurts. Like, I get a cramp 1 time a day, and it's for 2 minutes. More, nature let it lasts for 5-6 days max. But the problems in all of this.

The back pain.

Oh GOD.

Affect my shoulder, my mood and my brain. All of those hurts like hell while periods. ;A;

And I bleed a lot. Not fun. ._.

Oh, and mine started at shcool, start of my 5th year. Was wondering what the hell was all that blood in my pants. And then I realised I just leveled up from a kid to a woman. I actually was able to hide it from my mom (Toilet paper.) for 3 days before she looks at my panties. xD

Yeah, that is the word. But if you read my earlier posts I was saying that I'm hoping that he's not sycophanting or something.

Whatever.

I hate my period.. So much..
They last five days but, I don't know if my cramps are worse or if I just can't handle them as well.. I remember a few years ago they were horrible...
They'd hurt so bad they'd make physically sick and throw up and occasionally get a fever...
That happened in 6th grade once.. It was horrible, we were at the library and they were reading us a story.. And I was just crouched over in pain not listening anymore. When I couldn't take it I just went to the bathroom and I threw up there maybe once or twice.. I was in it for like a half and hour... (At the time I really didn't like telling people I was on my period...)
When I walked back my class was gone and I think I got sent home early..

I first learned about periods when I was nine, and my friend had just gotten a book called "The Book of Things You Don't Want to Know But Have to" and her mom was making her read it.. Her little brother said "This is my favorite part! It's funny!" and showed me the part of about periods, which I hadn't even heard of at the time. I didn't read all of it, but I did read the part about tampons. I freaked out, thinking that you had to wear a tampon when you had your period..
It didn't help drawing for that page was a girl sitting on the toilet, holding a tampon while trembling... :l

It sucks starting your period earlier than everyone else in your class..
Especially when you have to watch the puberty video with all the other girls. And everyone keeps asking the same, stupid questions, over and over again. Because apparently it didn't register the first time they answered the question... The questions were almost always "Will it hurt?" and "Can it happen at -insert random situation-"..
And while they are asking all these same questions, you just sit there awkwardly since you already know these things...
It's even more annoying when your hear the girls that hadn't started yet saying they are excited for the periods...

EDIT:
Oh.. and.. Everyone always says they get cravings during their periods.. I always seem to eat less during my periods...
I think it's because my cramps will hurt enough to where I'd rather lie down then get up and eat something..
