Sometimes I get really edgy before mine, but not during (though my mom likes to say I'm mean on my period, but she would accuse me of it when I wasn't on my period... so I think she was just being sexist.) My mom tells me hers were sometimes more than a week, mine are never more than five days and if I move around and drink a lot of water I can have the heavy portion of it over in three days and only be spotting for the next two days.
This past one, I got dizzy a lot, but its been relatively painless, but the last few were hell. I was always angry, and just wanted to keep sleeping.
I usually know when mine is coming cause I cramp before my period, and usually only on that day... but I do remember getting worst cramps in high school.

Anyways my periods are kind of variable in intensity. I just got mine today and I took a preemptive advil and most of the time that'll stop me from cramping up really bad. I'll know for sure whether I'm going to be confined to writhing around a couch or something for the day tomorrow...maybe I'll pick up FF5 again, that's what I did last time lol.
I love that there's a whole thread dedicated to period talk.

I've never had to seriously worry about this kind of thing but it's always really weird and creepy to me when this happens.

It's usually on Mondays or when something comes up that involves a lot of movement. (P.E. Y?)
Mine don't usually last that long though. Maybe about 3-4 days. It doesn't bother me too much though. :>
One thing I never understood was this: Why do people always say girls want chocolate when on their periods? Maybe it's just me, but I never crave chocolate =_=

Honestly I can't say anything about that, mainly because I crave chocolate all the time.
I know lots of girls that get hungry all the time during their periods (and maybe like in this case, many of them crave for things they adore, like chocolate); I'm the complete opposite, I lose appetite.
Also just like Bya I'm pretty stressed so I think I skipped a bit.
For some reason I've been PMSing like a little bitch lately, which is unusual since I rarely ever have PMS.

I generally crave chocolates and sweets 24/7 regardless of my period lmao
Actually when I'm on my period I get huge meat cravings where I just want to down a steak wrapped in bacon topped with chicken wings etc.

Craving meat is the most logical thing during a period, since it contains iron and people loose iron with blood.

But then, even if I don't eat anything, I still get dry heaves. My only relief is sleep and heating pads.

I got it when I was like.. 10.. It was in the middle of the week. IN JANUARY. I prefer getting my period on a break/weekend, so I don' have to suffer through it at school.. But I got mine in the middle of the week with no break ahead.. It was awful..
The only way I was able to tell my mum without feeling like I was going to crawl into a me-sised hole was because of swimming (I took swimming back then.. But I hate tampons so I don't like to swim competitvely anymore.. T^T).
Apparently, very thin pads and liners were what my mom survived off of when she had her period, because that's all she gave me to start off with. Me, not knowing that liners wouldn't help during heavy flow, acsepted them. The next 2 days at school were hell. I bled through within the first hour I was there, and it was so darn notisable. Every time I got up, there'd be a streak of blood on the chair, and I kinda wiped it off with no one notising. And the skirts I had back then were plaid, white, green, yellow, and navy blue (hell ugly..), so it was super notisable. No one said anything though, exsept for that good ol' bff, who screamed it out to the world. Lots of panties were ruined.
Now, it doesn't really bother me that much. I've tamed that beast! GRRR! :3 And it is true that most people crave chocolate. There's a chemical in there that makes you feel better. I never really get bad cramps, but it seemed the only time I did get them was in the ACTs, where you can't get up. It was awful.. I felt like I was gonna burn up.
