I'm curious:

- If you buy any Crypton V3 other than Miku English will you be able to change the language during installation? Does the same apply to Studio One?

- What does ninjamitsuki mean by

If you mean the language the software is in (as in menus and stuff)yes, you can change the language but you don't do it during installation, it's up on the menu after installation.

And pitch shift is an option in piapro studio that just moves the note up or down by different increments. It would be helpful if you don't have a steady hand or if you need to follow a specific pitch pattern.

So I would have to put up with Japanese installation then? If that is so, is there a guide, including Studio One, or anyone I can ask when I get a Crypton V3?

If I recall correctly, when you start the installer it has a drop down menu for languages. Just pick whichever of English or 英語 is on the list.

I was able to install in English, it asked me on startup - though thats with Miku English anyways. I should note though, that if you plan to use the included Piapro Edition of Studio One Artist, you must install Piapro to default locations, if you change it Studio One will not be able to load Piapro and there is no way to re-add it because the Artist version of Studio One does not support VST's, except Piapro, and that the location for it to look for that or allow the VST to run is hardcoded into some registry or settings manifest file or something upon install. I had to install everything a 2nd time because of that, I wanted to put it all on my faster/less full second disk and get it all organized there but nooo... Anyways just a word of warning - personally I reinstalled everything to default locations just to be sure, though I think Studio One should be okay to install somewhere else, and maybe even Vocaloid API itself, though who knows if that would break Piapro. I say to be safe just install all to default locations.

Tutorial: How to add Piapro Studio to other DAWS (ex. Fl Studios)

If piapro studio runs too slow on Studio One (as it does for me because my computer is too old ), you can install piapro studio to other daws.

Here is how you install piapro studio for FL Studios. (that will most likely work for other DAWs)
1. Go to My Computer > Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Crypton and copy the following files.Posted Image2. Go back in the programs folder, look for "Image-Line" or the program files of your DAW, and paste the .dll files in the VST plugins folder (>plugins >VST for FL Studios)
3. Open up the DAW you put the vst files in, and check to see if Piapro Studio showed up. For FL studios, you have to manually add the vst. You can follow the instructions here: http://www.image-lin...rnalplugins.htm

And that is how you can install piapro studio outside of Studio One.

Hmm I'm having a problem now... I ran Check for Updates on Piapro, and updated it fine. Now I can't open it... I add it in Studio One and the vst window that normally would show the Piapro logo/splash image, is blank, and clicking will not open the Piapro editor. I have tried restarting Studio One and nothing... Any ideas?

I was able to restore Piapro by uninstalling it, and then reinstalling from my Miku English DVD. Trying to use the manual updater from Crypton's support site now, hopefully this will do the trick.

EDIT: Yes indeed this fixed everything! Not sure how it could have gotten broken by the updater.. but got it back to normal now. Hopefully if anynyan else runs into this issue they'll see this post :)

A shame their tutorial is so basic, I would prefer to see something showing how to use dynamics and automation effectively.

I hope they do a mini series on this, this video is really basic like you said.
But at least it's got a song file sample for people to download.

I would like to see MIDI controller support in Piapro, especially for entering automation data. Being able to write automation curves with a fader, wheel, or knob, while playing through the song would be extremely useful and allow much more expression. I realize this probably can't be done in realtime due to the Vocaloid engine needing quite a bit of pre-render time, but even just being able to write the automation data like that with no immediate feedback would be very useful - and then when you played through it a 2nd time you would hear the results, and could go in and manually make tweaks with the pencil tool etc.
