Oh, yeah...

In that case, Treeko

Mudkip may be good against Magma, but is easily replaced by others, and will be destroyed by Grass types

I'm fond of Mudkip personally, but I'm gonna be special and agree with Newo about the Torchic.
Water types are easy to find. So Mudkip can be replaced.

Actually, more people said Mudkip. You told us to choose, afterall. But out or Treeko and Torchic, I highly recommend Torchic. Makes it hard in the beginning but easy anytime after that.

I would still recommend Mudkip. Out of those two, though, I would say Treecko.
