I actually got to try out for a small bit part in Oh! My Goddess! The director thought I was fine but Robert Woodhead the owner Animego really wanted somebody he knew so somebody else was selected! Trivia about the AMG Dub, Belldandy and Kienchi were REALLY husband and wife and picked independently!
Pretty sure by Voice acting days are through though but I have gotten to know a lot over the years!

Voice acting eh? Eh, it's been a while since I've tried to do any particular character. I used to be able to do a few... I'll have to come in and try them again when my throat is feeling better... Minor head cold so my nose is draining into my throat as usual....

Did I ever mention I was part of a fan dubbing group that seems to have dies completely? We were planning on fan dubbing Code Geass (though I have stated several times I don't understand why we fandub an already dubbed series, much less "as close to the original as we can get"...)... Yeah, I was to audition for Lloyd, Lelouch, Suzaku, and a few others.... Though having demonstrated my abilities to the "director" I was pretty much promised Lloyd on the spot.

I'm just wishing there were a way for me to actually become an actual voice artist. I've no natural voice so I've got a different voice every other day... Not to mention I take great pleasure in coming up with unique voices to match random characters or mannerisms.

Anyone have any ideas?

GreenKata, nice job. I'd figure you for the older, business type of character. But that's type casting xD If anything Id like to hear you better, try and keep it more prominent than the character in the clip. I had to listen to each clip a few times to separate yours from theirs.

Yeah, for the most part I like to do the voices to just the music in the back ground of that scene. I was just feeling lazy that day xD

Anyhow... Love the gurren lagann one man. Few characters I thought you'd have done very well for. Simon, not so much xD. Your voice fits the anti spiral perfectly, however.

Hm, interesting topic. Well I do amatuer voice acting on the side and dabbled with different projects here and there, so yeah.

Well here's my voice demo, which features me saying several different lines from several different animes. I might try to do an actual scene later.

You have a convincing voice and give off that sense of intimidation, pretty nice. But it seems you focused a little much on the voice and not enough on the acting.

Though for a random thing it was well done.

Good catch. I haven't actually done anything with my voice for a while. I also had not slept for around 24 hours at that point, just like right now (about to hit the hay). As well, my throat had dried at some point without me noticing....

But aye. Thanks for the feedback on the psycho scientist . I do psychotic characters the best, really. It's really the only other voice I've kept with in the past months, what with being the signature voice of one of my personalities... Simply added a scientific spin to it.....

I like your demo, not bad. I agree with the comment someone said on there, you sound like Johnny Young Bosch's Ichigo at certain points.

Ah... How I envy your vocal chords. Mine are damaged through years of post nasal drip, heavy coughing resulting from it, and very intense heart burn (near vomiting stomach acid sort of heart burn, it has seriously bubbled up to the back of my throat and burned my throat and the back of my tongue!).... I'm not sure if it's just me but I've got a constant rumble to my voice that signals, every voice that I do, that it is still me doing it. I hate it really.... Might have to pay to have some work done at some point (do they even do that?)


I'll do some more when I'm more awake at some point in time. But... Seriously.... We three can't be the only ones!

I'm sure you can they do certain voices that would make it hard for listeners to realize its you. Hell, I barely have any voices that really stand out from my natural voice. Maybe like, three or four.


From the huge amount of response this thread is getting I'm gonna assume we are. However, we should totally do a scene together, preferably recorded during a reasonable hour and with a good nights rest.

I concur... As well as when I'm not suffering from a monthly canker sore. I tend to bite my cheeks/lips/tongue a lot, hard, and the resulting hole devolved into a canker. This time, it's a long one on the left side of my tongue, so my tongue is a bit swollen on that side, hoorah! Nah, seriously though this thing is pissin me off...

Personally though..... I hate being asked to imitate someone... I mean I'll do it, I'll just hate it. I would much prefer a scene with whatever voice we feel appropriate, contrary to what I'm usually asked to do. Honestly... I joined a fandubbing group... That decided to fansub Code Geass despite the fact it had run its course in english...... Aaaaand they wanted us to sound exactly like the English dub.... I was sitting there going WTF? I was also wondering... Why not something that HASN'T been done in English yet!? I mean, three of the group were Japanese/Americans that spoke and red fluent Japanese... Why not translate some freaking episodes! xD And why does it seem that all fan-sub groups are predominantly female? Kind of a detriment in a male-oriented series like Code Geass (seriously, we only had 2 male VAs other than myself)....

Yeah... I'm a bit bitter on that one. I was expecting something good to come out of it, but.... Blech.

In the mean time.... It's bed time for me, and I've got an annoying frog in my throat... Can't hack this crap up, so I'm just going to deal with it later...

I've portrayed Ichigo before, due to the obvious similarities. I don't really mind it, though I do find it difficult sometimes. Sometimes unable to fully match his voice or his mannerisms.


Hahah, sounds like you were working with a bunch of fangirls. Don't worry, there are loads of em out there. A series that's frequently trying to be fandubed by girls is Vampire Knight, for obvious reasons. Not to mention Mermaid Melody and anything Full Metal Alchemist who always want the portrayal of Ed to sound just like Vic McDerp-a-derp. And then there was several years back, when Inuyasha was insanely popular where girl producers would always have one male character where she described the voice to sound like Richard Cox (Inuyasha's voice actor).

Nope... Just very, very sharp teeth...

But aye.... Fan girls indeed, seeing as almost every member voted for Code Geass. With only like 5 VAs (2 girls 3 boys)... Sigh.

I'm still trying to find some japanese only series that haven't been subbed yet. If I had connections I'd try and get the raws for the Battle Spirits anime, get some translators to translate and sub, and then fandub the stuff... So far next to nobody's even heard of BS xD.
