not sure if anyone saw this, but furyu (there go the chances for localization) is developing a new RPG called caligula. it's going to be written by the same person who wrote persona 1 and 2 and it features some vocaloid producers

the game is about a virtual world called "mobius" created by a vocaloid named "μ". people who live in this world forget everything about the normal world and they repeat high school endlessly. some people in this world realize that this isn't the real world and they create a club to get home. these students are opposed by 9 musicians, who are supposed to represent real vocaloid producers. these musicians will have music composed by well-known vocaloid producers (to name a few: oster-project, cosmo, and polyphonic branch). the battle system is a traditional turn-base system and it closely resembles persona.

this game will be out on june 23rd, 2016.

main site

(sorry if i fucked up the story, you can read an article about it here if it isn't very clear)

Oh yeah, I saw this one on the NIS forums and was stoked to see it has the writer of Personas 1 & 2 and featured some of the VocaP's, but I didn't know they were to be based on by the main villains!

Besides the "trapped in a virtual something" plot, I'm super excited to get this one!
Just three months! XD

Ah. I didn't realize. I know I picked up Legend of Legacy and that game is pretty decent.

From here on in i'll admit this is speculation on my part.

That last trailer mentioned DLC so it's likely they might make expansion DLCs for the game that include some more irl vocaloid producers as boss characters of sort. That totally reminded me of this tweet from a few months back...

By the way, Oguchi did the character design for both this game and the Echo light novel

Imaginary Chain Combo System, Catharsis Efect Transformation, and the Oster Project-backed Boss, Sweet-P!

Shit, this game. Needs. To. Get. LOCALIZED.

Good to see that JRPG devs continue to shove miscellaneous, unrelated systems into a JRPG's combat system just to make it look slightly different.

I need this game in my life and I long for its localization. Maybe with the popularity of Project Diva, it could happen?
