As you can see, track 2 from CD 2 is ONE track.
It is a medley of these two songs and I counted that as one.

I even said the Mitchie M medley used Miku because it seems he tuned her for all the songs.

Anybody also feels the tuning was done from scratch for all the songs Miku sings in?

To finally answer your question... I don't know xD

But yes it does sound like Mitchie had to re-tune Miku for the orchestra. Sounds like he made her voice flow slightly more smoothly to fit classical instruments than more fast quick pitch changes in the original electronic songs.

Yeah I am pretty sure she was tuned from sratch and unfortunately I don't like the result that much.

But...what do YOU guys think of the performance?
Especially you, didn't you actually go to the real concert, don't remember 100%...

My opinion would be very biased though...
I love orchestral and piano versions of music I listen to like Miku songs or VN/anime openings so I found it fine that there wasn't much Miku vocals in all of them.

Personally since I listen to so much orchestral versions of songs I find that slower paced songs should be left to the orchestra without vocals while faster paced ones should have vocals

E.g ODDS&ENDS, Tsumi no Namae should be purely instrumental which they did and liked while faster paced ones should have vocals like Two-Faced Lovers and Senbonzakura which they did for Senbo but not Two-Faced.

The one exception is for songs that originally have almost no instruments and vocals are the main focus. For example, such as Hajimete no Oto which te vocals were the main focus in the song while slow paced I think should be accompanied by vocals which they did :D.

Best song is PoPiPo cause the moment it came on I had the exact same reaction as the audience and just started laughing and clapping.

Ah so you WERE there.

I see.
Well I hope I can make it to next years one if they have one^^

Also as a little edit, I am listening to the songs more and more over this day so far, this time with speakers and not headphones, haha I really am more of a speakers guy, I prefer music more like that and can say, I really do like it a lot^^
Especially the many tracks without Miku interestingly enough. Probably because like I said, I don't think the tuning of Miku is that great.

Oh no no I wasn't there. I booked my flight for Mirai before Symphony was announced so I didn't manage to go. I would have to buy another flight to go for it and I'm not exactly overflowing with cash xD

Already promised myself to go for every Mirai since my first. As for symphon,y it depends on when it is, if it's near Mirai then I'll go but since Mirai is near my Uni exams I'm not sure how long I can spend my time in Japan

Lol why was this even a question in my mind if Miku was tuned from scratch for all the songs she is singing in XD
After listening to a direct comparison I feel stupid!^^

I listened to the orchestra version of Starduster again, I love the song, but I felt kinda unsatisfied after listening to it in the orchestra.
After listening to the original, to be more precise the version from Mikupa 2012, I know why!!
Miku sounds so gorgeous, so POWERFUL in the original.
In the new tuning, she sounds "shoved to the back".
(And I am sure it was an ACTIVE deicision in doing that!! But still I don't think it was the right thing to do)

Well, this confirms what I already thought (remember, this is just my opinion):
The orchestra sounds awesome, but for some reason, they decided to make Miku sound far less dominant in the few songs she is in.
So yeah, imo either have her in NO songs and just have orchestra (which is very amazing, again!!) or have her original voice in the songs she is in. The end result we have this year just is lacking.

I hope nobody is offended or something, this is just my honest opinion.
Miku just sounds so much more powerful in the original songs :appendmiku:

EDIT:
And I can answer my own question completely, about whether Mitchie M did all the tuning.
I found it from in the CD, it says it was done my Mitchie M, Jimmy-Thumb-P and Osamu.
Well so JimmyThumb tuned Starduster anew himself, but since there is no malo for example it is pretty safe to say in fact Mitchie M did most of the tuning for the rest.

Like I said. Orchestras are classical instruments in which are natural sounds are used (string/Brass) (die down naturally)

In the original songs which are electronic they can choose to die down at any time leading to quick paced and harder music. Since Miku was originally tuned for hard musics it's only natural for her to be re-tuned for natural music.

Not sure how she would sound using the normal tuning, personally think re-tuning for softer sounds was a good decision. Wonder if there just vocals for those songs and if its possible to overlap the orchestra only with vocals to comapre.

Eh I said I know they did it deliberately to match an orchestra but I still think the tuning sounds rather boring and the original would have had a better impact.

I can only report what I experienced and it is a fact that I often get goose bumps hearing Starduster while in the new version, I hardly feel anything.
