To much highschool..... x_x anyone know any good anime with adult problems and characters. maybe specifically for women?
does not have to be gender orientated though.

I've been watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and am pleasantly surprised by how mature it is, especially given the scenario (ordinary person with a boring life suddenly finds themselves accompanied by a magical dragon in the form of a busty maid). The protagonist is an adult woman, rather than a high-school-aged boy. I think it's a show that has a lot of appeal for all genders, and for a more mature audience in general.

Depends, do you want a serious series or a comedy?

Mature anime is my specialty owo

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu My #1 recommendation, this anime is literally one of my absolute favorites and it a must-see for fans of mature/josei/historical anime.

Nana Kind of popular so you might've seen it already but Nana is a masterpiece and if you like loads of mature drama, then you will love this anime.

Nodame Cantabile College romance and good quirky characters, you might like this one. It's big on romance/music if either of those are your thing.

Time of Eve. Not really a romance or anything, but I highlyy recommend it. There is a bit of school life, but the show doesn't revolve around it.

She and her Cat: Everything Flows Also not a romance, but I personally thought it was a good story about the relationship between a girl and her cat.

You can try Shiki if you are into mystery/horror (It has a little bit of highschool angst problem but is pretty much resolved in 2 or 3 episodes)

You can also check out Mushishi if you are into folk legends. (I'm not sure if it based off Japanese mythology but I'm guessing it might) Also despite the trailer making it seem action/horror it really isn't. You can watch season 1 or season 2 in any order since no episode is connected.

If you don't mind old anime, I would also recommend the shoujo classic Rose of Versailles. Honestly, it should be required viewing for any anime fan anyway.
