My opinion is that engloids aren't as popular due to less fan depiction. People still can't agree on what Leon and Lola look like.

I think the issue lies in the weeaboo idea that all things Japanese are better than western, including language. It's ridiculous if you ask me. There's good and bad with all cultures. The Engloids are awesome and just as good as any Japanese vocaloid. V_V

My opinion is that the Engloids are less popular because they don't appeal to Otaku markets (like every single Japanese company).

I think the lack of face is just part of the appeal, and giving them faces would just cause a big ol' shitstorm now that they actually have a fanbase.

well The English vocaloids aren't by crypton, so thye don't have the big marketing like Miku Luka and others have. but the newer ones are getting some recognition, I like Sweet Ann myself.

No, seriously, Engloids need more attention.

I really have to agree with Beatlemania, though. A few of the Japanese producers are taking notice of the newer Vocaloids and putting them to use. However, I really doubt that any Western/American fans would bother, because it seems that a lot of Vocaloid fans need some kind of visualization. As well as a character item, a "kawaii" voice and cute songs.

See I don't agree with that, I think that people prefer to have visualization becasue it makes it easier to pretend that our robot singers are real live human artists ((which you can never replace real human voices with electronics)). But they don't need avatars. Nor supah cute songs, though those are nice, I prefer pretty melodic songs, or story line songs.
