Yes they do. There are hundreds of women that do. It is extremely common for a woman to have a high voice. The receptionist at our family doctor has this really bright, high-pitched, clear voice, and she's in her 30s. I have heard so many women of every age with voices higher than Miku's (not Miku singing high oh jesus, I mean her normal range). I live in Canada, so voice-altering environment is notwithstanding. It's just a natural occurrence, like being left-handed. Stephanie Beard is an example of that. YES she is naturally that high, can you guys please stop treating her like some sort of horrible freak.
And only children? Do Miku and Rin's voice actors just magically not exist? I am PRETTY SURE they are in their 20s.
The likelihood of locating a singer with a high-pitched voice without a cutesy slant is very low, because it means they have to be naturally high. Even children have very low-pitched voices (like Kaai Yuki!). When synthesizing, a cutesy accent can make the voice sound ugly and odd if the voice is too low. It also means you have no range whatsoever, because the deepness prevents you from going too high. This is why Sonika sounds so awful btw.
So what are the chances of finding a natural high voice, without accent issues? Veeeery low. So it's a good idea to file that one away. That is what I mean.

If you got the right vocal with the right person for the job, by your books they wouldn't sound right... Thats the problem. If we got the right vocal with the right person, it would blow our minds.
Also, with Vocaloid 3 on the way... Well, we don't know what it entrails yet and that could blow everything out of the water and change our opinions even more.
Youtube poster 2; I'm guessing that it breaks the word in half.

Especially female. Everyone keeps saying "Womens voices aren't high pitched ratta ratta ratta" but seriously, I don't think many women have Lola-deep voices either.... >>
We need more options. Thats all. ^ ^ So a higher female and male would be a nice change.
So what I obviously don't want, is a bunch more lower pitched English Vocaloids. ._.

.......Yamaha didn't make her. Zero-G made Sonika. By definition only the VY series was done by Yamaha/bplats inc.

Ariel...hell, all the Disney Princess have very mature voices. Ariel is rather high-pitched, but still womanly.
Sugar is cute, but a bit too extreme, I guess?
for me she is. I'm actually now trying to think of a high pitched female who would work in English.

.....IDK

I totally agree with you, we need a medium teenage male to synthesize off of in English and Japanese. Especially for English because there is a good amount of us that can only use Engloids. Big Al is WAY TOO DEEP and Oliver may have a lower range accessible, but his choir essence doesn't fit the feel of the song you would be trying to get across.

That would be nice, as long as it's not a Beiberloid. A more mature voice, yet still useable on higher pitched songs.

And as far as males go, I'm a sucker for deep voices. They're delicious. But I already have Al and Tonio, so my deep manly hunk bases are covered. Just like the females, I'd love to see a younger male as well (not as young as Oliver). Something closer to Leon's range would be great.
I will always be in favor of new deep voices, but I think variety is a necessity. Besides, if you're really concerned about a voice being too high, it's not that hard to put the singer on a lower octave and drop the gender factor... (from what I've seen it's a lot easier than trying to raise a low voice and not have it sound derpy)
that's my two cents (*^▽^)/

I would not want more mature voices unless it's an updated Leon, Lola and Miriam. I rather want a teen voice. I've gotten Big Al and Sweet Ann to sound like a teen, but it was a pain to do that because it's not exactly their natural range.

For these reasons it would not be much of a surprise to me if Zero G's new celtic Vocaloid is Miriam V3 whether named that or not.
