- "What is a Magus?" In my little universe, Magus are people with a strong affinity for magic. Most are naturally born with the strong affinity, although there are rare cases of completely normal human (the common human have little, if not zero, affinity to magic) becoming Magus through extensive training. Magus are humans, and share all the characteristics of a normal human. The only major differences are their magical affinity and their lifespan. The lifespan of an average Magus is 120 years old, however, the stronger the Magus the longer they will live. Especially powerful Magus stopped aging at one point of their life and can live for very long, the current record being 1412 years old before dying of age. The current leader of the Royal Magus Elite Guard, Vea von Gottheit, is 574 years old and has stopped aging since she was 15 years old (Causing her to looks like a 15 years old).

Magus get divided into classes (From lowest to highest): Junior Novice->Senior Novice->Junior Apprentice->Senior Apprentice->Adeptus Minor->Adeptus Major->Magister Minor->Magister->Magister Major->Master->Grand Master
A Magus class advancement are seen from their proficiency in magic, capability, mentality, and heroic deeds. Advancement up to Adeptus Major are given by their respective Magic Academy while the title of Magister Minor and above can only be given by Grand Masters. The title of Grand Master can only be given by the Magus king or queen.

As mentioned above, there are currently several Magus Academies: Od (life force) Magus (Exclusive to certain members of the Gottheit family), Primal Magus, Shadow Magus, Light Magus, Central Techno Magus, East Techno Magus, Cold Magus, Aqua Magus, Gaea Magus, Heat Magus, Air Magus, and the Magus Apprentice School.
The Magus Apprentice School are where every new Magus begins their Magus training, getting their title of Junior Novice. They trained and study there for 4 years, advancing each year (except if they fail to advance, of course)until they reach Senior Apprentice. From there, they are to choose and join one of the 10 Magus Academy to get their Adeptus title. The time each Magus takes to get to Adeptus Major completely depends on their own qualities. Once they graduated and be named Adeptus Major, they've basically completed all of their formal Magus training, and from there it is up to them of what to do next.

There are now 10 Major Cities (Used to be 12): Gottheit, Ariolth, Ashen, Azure, Crystal, Jhtan, Mitauzo, Munasichi, Tei, and Ullch. Each city are led by a Lord. The Lords are generally the most powerful Magus of their respective Magus City, although this is not actually a necessary requirement.

*Note:It should be noted that all of the human inhabitants of the Magus island are Magus to an extent, even if they never joined the school or academies. They're still Magus, although their magic ability are probably rather limited and they have no titles, simply called civilians.*

- Magus Capital Gottheit

The capital of the Principality and the biggest of all the Magus cities, located beside the Great Magus Lake in the northern part of the island. Originally the first settlement built by the Magus when they first arrived at the Magus island. Slowly the settlement prospered and population grows, settlers moved out of the settlement and start spreading building new settlements while at the same time the first settlement remained as the center of civilization on the island. After many years, it became what is is today, the most majestic out of all the other Magus cities.
The ruling family of Gottheit lives here in the majestic tower known as the Gottheit Diamond Tower. The current leader is King Vivaldi von Gottheit, governing over the island fairly and trying to maintain order and peace with the help of the Royal Magus Elite Guards led by Grand Master Vea von Gottheit consisting of elite Magus from all over the island. The members of the Gottheit family are known as element masters, as they can use magic from visually every school of Magus (albeit not as effectively as Magus who concentrate on only one school). However, their true calling are as Od Magus. Od Magic are magic that manipulates the force of life itself, enabling the user to resurrect the dead to an extent, kill a foe by absorbing it's soul via "Death Touch", and enabling the user to become ethereal. Even amongst the members of the Gottheit family, only a select few were able to become Od Magus. The only currently living Od Magus known is Vea von Gottheit.

Magus from all over the island resides here with the exception of the Shadow Magus, making the capital the most diverse in term of Magus variety. There are estimated to be a total of 5000 Magus and 60000 civilians in the capital.

The Aqua Regia, the "Super weapon" of the Principality, lies here. The only Magus Contraption capable of eliminating entire army, if not cities or islands. The diameter of the Magus Primal beam launched can reach 2000 miles. However, it's a very "expensive" contraption that needs to be charged with magic power for a year to be used at full power. And the damage to the environment is unavoidable and irreversible, causing a Field of Depletion/Field of Decay. Thus why it was never actually used at full capacity, even in the Great Magus War.

- Magus City of Ariolth

Home of the highly respected and feared Shadow Magus. It's practically a small city floating above the sea. It is the smallest of all the Magus Cities. Descendants and disciples of Shadow Magus Ludwig von Gottheit, the Shadow Magus mastered the use of Shadow Magic and levitation Magic. They can create and control shadows at will even in situations where shadows are normally confined, turning the shadows into weapons, armors, vehicles, or even a colossal shadow beast. Their numbers are few, estimated to be around 100 and there are no civilians in their city. Yet few as they are, they are extremely powerful that even the monsters and wild beasts never dared to try attack Ariolth as if their instinct told them that it would be their demise.

They're mysterious, although they are friendly enough in general and lets mostly anybody to enter the city freely after a brief inspection by a gate guard. Nobody had ever heard of a Shadow Magus getting killed in battles, killed by diseases, or even died from old age. This caused a rumor that they are all in fact immortals and that even Ludwig von Gottheit himself are still alive despite being 1743 years old. Another rumor is that they are all undead, this rumor started when a group of Royal Magus Scouts were sent to observe the city. They observed the gate guard and found out that in one full week, the gate guard never moved from his post. Never eating, never drinking, never sleeping. They also found out that there is only one gate guard, it is always the same person. Usage of illusion magics are ruled out as there are capable illusionists amongst the scouting group, so the gate guard standing there unmoving is not an illusion. Further investigation is pending.

The Shadow Magus of Ariolth holds a key and prominent role in the Great Magus War. They're the one who quickly come to the aid of the Gottheit Capital in the Dragon Assault on the Capital battle. It was also they who dealt the finishing blow in the war using their levitation magic (More details in the Great Magus War section).

- Magus City of Ashen

Home of the East Techno Magus, located in the Azure Rainforest and built on the center of the Azure lake, the Magus City of Azure is currently the most futuristic and also the most technologically advanced. While the Magus City of Ashen resembles at most modern design, the Magus City of Azure is even more advanced than that. They have flying cars, and even combat aircraft of unique shapes that would have been impossible without advanced technology, or magic. The city is best described as "resembling an outer-space station". Most of their technological marvels are achieved by their infamous Azure Science Center where most of the Magus Island's scientists dwells. Also in the city is the Azure Aero Station where both the combat and public aircraft are placed. Their advanced technology doesn't mean that they're all technology and no magic, they're still Magus after all. The East Techno Magus are generally Primal and Light Magus, giving explanations to their beam and laser weaponry. Their numbers are many, though not as many as their Central counterpart, estimated to be 1500 Magus strong and there are around 12000 civilians in the city.

The inhabitants of Azure are generally easy-going and try to "enjoy life to the fullest". They're just as adaptable, if not more, as their Central counterpart. Their current leaders are Grand Master Achilles Azure and Master Marion Azure. They're the 4th generation leaders of Azure. Both of them participated in the Great Magus War, leading the East Techno Magus and directly jumping into the heat of battle, mowing down countless foes with their beam Magus weaponry. Their biggest battle are against the South Techno Magus of Osthellor, where after a long and intense combat they successfully eliminated the Lord of Osthellor and routed the South Techno Magus army, although unfortunately they obliterated the entire Magus City of Osthellor in the process.
Through their show of power in the Great Magus War, the East Techno Magus of Azure are recognized as one of the deadliest armies in the Magus island along with the Shadow Magus.

- Magus City of Crystal

Home of the Magus of Cold, located in the Tundra region on the shore of the Frozen Sea, the Magus City of Crystal got it's name from the material they used for their buildings. Crystals, hardened by the Cold Magus' magic to be strong enough to use for all primary structures of the city. The Cold Magus are just that, Magus that controls the Cold. Their Magic revolves around the element of Cold, materializing ice to use as tools, and weapons. The city is medium-sized and at the center of the city lies the Great Crystal Tower (seen in the picture) where the Lord resides. This Crystal Tower is in truth not only a mere building but also a Magic Contraption capable of producing a powerful barrier to protect the city, keeping the inhabitants safe inside and dangerous threats outside. This same barrier is the reason why the city managed to pass through the Great Magus War undamaged. Another prominent feature of the city is the fact that night never falls in the city though the cause for this is currently unclear, only the Lord knew the secret. The Cold Magus numbers are estimated to be around 1200 Magus strong and there are around 9000 civilians in the city.

The inhabitants of Crystal are generally hard-working and quiet peoples. They are well-suited to living in cold areas, having lived in constant below 0 degree celcius temperature for years. Their current Lord is Grand Master Sapphiria von Wolf, the 5th leader of Crystal. She was not the Grand Master during the Great Magus War as she rose to the throne of Lord at the start of the Frieden Era (which is right after the end of the great war). The previous Lord of Crystal was killed in the Assault on Munasichi battle by the Lord of Munasichi which used a suicide spell against him, resulting in the death of both Lords. Sapphiria is not the descendant or family member of the previous Lord, hailing from an entirely different family of nobility, she was chosen as Lord by votes from the inhabitants of Crystal because of her decision to take over the Crystal Tower and spread the barrier to cover the entire city (the barrier was previously used to cover only the Crystal Tower by the previous Lord's family). The previous Lord's family are known to be corrupt and rules over the city as tyrants, so the citizens of Crystal were more than happy enough when the Lord was killed and quickly proceeded to revolt against the family.

- Magus City of Jhtan

Home of the Aqua Magus, located on the shore of the Southwest Sea. The city are dotted by a few old ruined buildings, reminiscent of the Great Magus War. The Aqua Magus of Jhtan controls water and other forms of liquids, although they mainly controls water. They manipulate water, and their favorite form of attack is suffocating their foes
by making a water sphere to cover their foe's head and by stopping the flow of blood in their foe's body (although the latter only works to those with weak Magic resistance). The city is long, although not necessarily wide as it was built along the shore of the sea. The center of the city is the Water God Shrine (seen on the left part of the picture) where the Lord resides. This shrine also serves as a place of worship to the Water god, the deity that is worshiped by the inhabitants of Jhtan. Another feature of the city is it's clear, clean and most of all beast-free sea. This caused the beach of Jhtan to be constantly visited by peoples on their vacations. There are estimated to be around 1400 Aqua Magus and around 5000 civilians in the city, making the city rather quiet and calm due to it's relatively few inhabitants.

The current Lord of Jhtan is Grand Master Letticia von Nadel, a veteran and survivor of the Great Magus War and 3rd leader of Jhtan. A silent and emotionless person, this is caused by the slaughter of the entire Nadel family by the Grand Turtle when she was but a little child. Witnessing the slaughter, her magical power awoken and she drove the Grand Turtle, along with all the beasts inhabiting the sea around Jhtan, away. Her favorite form of weapon is a giant obsidian scissor made by manipulating liquid obsidian. Possessing extremely high affinity to magic, during the Great Magus War, she left Jhtan by herself and proceeded to attack the Gottheit Capital during the Dragon Assault on the Capital battle. The Royal Magus Elite Guards failed to stop her, getting many of it's members knocked out (but none killed somehow) effortlessly instead. She was only stopped after Grand Master Vea von Gottheit herself stood against her and after a long stalemate managed to use the "Death Touch" on her. Surprisingly, Letticia survived, merely getting knocked out by the supposedly sure-death magic.

Their Lord leaving them suddenly and without any leader to lead them, the Magus City of Jhtan quickly falls and surrendered after a short battle against the combined force of the Magus City of Tei and Magus City of Ashen.
After the war, Letticia remained as the Lord. Investigation by a group of Mind-walker Magus (Magus capable of "diving" into the unconscious mind to find out truths) reveals that the reason Letticia left Jhtan and attacks the Capital by herself are to minimize casualty on the side of Jhtan. Were Letticia there on Jhtan during Tei-Ashen invasion of the city, the casualties on both sides would have been enormous. This, combined with the fact that none of the Royal Guards were killed in Letticia's assault, gives enough reasons for the citizens of Jhtan and even those of other cities to believe that it would be best for Letticia to stay as Lord of Jhtan.

Today, Letticia is a peaceful and calm individual. However, even after hundreds of years, she still wished for revenge and silently decided that one day she will be the one to kill the Grand Turtle.

- Magus City of Mitauzo

Home of the Gaea Magus, located south of the Magus Capital. The city is a complex system of walls and bridges, built by the famed architects of Mitauzo. The Gaea Magus of Mitauzo can control the earth to an extent, changing geographical features or creating new formations. Causing localized earthquake and creating stalagmites are the most commonly used offensive magic of the Gaea Magus. Rumor said that the Gaea Magus are weak against airborne foes. This is mostly false as the Gaea Magus of Mitauzo are known for creating huge crossbows out of stone. The city of Mitauzo is an artificial maze. Getting lost in the city is easy if one is not familiar with the city. Nevertheless, many peoples from around the island visited Mitauzo because of the Great Magus Library located in the center of the city. Connected to the Great Magus Library is the Mitauzo Stone Palace, home of the Lord of Mitauzo and the Mitauzo ground keepers. The ground keepers are a group of Magus chosen by the Lord to maintain and make sure the structure of Mitauzo remains strong and peerless. There are estimated to be around 900 Gaea Magus, making them one of the fewest Magus, and around 7000 civilians in the city.

The current Lord of Mitauzo is Grand Master Arngrein Reibenschar, 2rd leader of Mitauzo. A charismatic and brilliant tactician, he is King Vivaldi's personal adviser during the Great Magus War. His tactics proves to be highly effective and many of the Loyalists flawless victories are thanks to him. Aside from being a tactician, he also possessed great power as a Magus, being capable of creating stalagmites tall enough to impale aerial monsters up high in the air and also creating traps underground to eliminate subterranean beasts. Powerful as he is, he prefers diplomacy and is a bit of a pacifist, although this does not stop him from making harsh, dangerous decisions if he believed that it is unavoidable. He is also fatherly and wise, Mitauzo prospers under his ruling. Many of the Grand Masters look up to him and would ask him for advices from time to time. He is the only person that Letticia von Nadel would freely smile to, and she had even been seen to act childish and asked to be petted by him. It is most likely that Letticia think of Arngrein as her new father, to fulfill the hole in her heart caused by losing her parents early in life.

- Magus City of Munasichi

Home of the Light Magus, located in the West tundra, the city is connected to the remains of the former Magus City of Lardga via a great bridge. The Light Magus of Munasichi can conjure light freely. The lights they conjure are not ordinary lights, there are many kinds of light that they can conjure, including intense sunray capable of burning their foes or holy light to heal diseases and wounds. They are closely related but not the same as holy priests using holy magic, the Light Magus does not necessarily use holy magic. The city of Munasichi can be called as a beautiful garden in the middle of a barren tundra. By using their light magic, the Light Magus are capable of giving life to plant life that is otherwise not possible in the Tundra. The city of Munasichi is rather small, although still much bigger than Ariolth. It houses the infamous Evergreen Garden, a garden where the plant life never withers away. It is also in this garden that the Light Magus conjure the healing light to heal those who need it. In the middle of the garden lies the House of Sol, the palace where the Lord lives. Estimated to be around 1100 Magus strong, the Light Magus valiantly protects the city's estimated 10000 civilians from the harsh nature of the Tundra.

The current Lord of Munasichi is Grand Master Venus Phoenicia, 4th leader of Munasichi. She is one of the current Grand Masters who gained their position after the Great Magus War. The previous Lord of Munasichi died using a suicide spell in a battle against the Lord of Crystal during the Great Magus War. Venus was the only child of the previous Lord and so gained the Lord title by default. During the Great Magus War, Venus was the General for the Light Magus army. After the Lord passed away, she was chosen by the Light Magus to lead their defenses against the attacking monsters and Crystal's Cold Magus. She proves to be capable of leading the Light Magus efficiently and successfully break the assault, eliminating the threat to Munasichi.
