Icon   Hentai Not bad for a not-record label. For an elaborate joke, I sometimes take things a bit too far. http://weeaboo.co.uk/

Topics I've Started

  1. Learn Japanese + Get Games From Japan

    Posted 26 Feb 2015

The latest Humble Bundle is titled the "Made in Japan" bundle. It basic $1 tier includes the Influent language learning tool that will help you learn other languages including Japanese, Korean, and more!

It also has games, some pretty cool games... if you like Japanese games that is.
  2. Vocaloid PVs w/ Bright or Neon Color Pallet?

    Posted 21 Feb 2015

I am working on a PV for a yet unreleased original song and while I already have 4 or 5 pieces of character art from my artist I am not sure how I want to handle my backgrounds or present the lyrics yet. I was hoping maybe you guys could help me find some inspiration from existing works.

Do you guys know of any Vocaloid PVs that effectively utilize very bright (not neccisarily neon, but neon is a plus) color pallets?
Bonus points if they also integrated their lyrics into the video smartly beyond just with simple subtitles.
  3. Engloids.Info Shop BETA™

    Posted 23 Oct 2014

I am not sure if any of you know but beyond blogging on Engloids.Info I am a web developer by trade and last night while getting mad at PowerFX.com trying to show a friend the various ways to buy Vocaloid 3 Full Editor, Yohioloid, Yohioloid DVD, the Yohioloid Bundle, and how PowerFX's offerings differed from Zero-G's I got frustrated at how terrible all of the above were to navigate and how ugly everything looked at times. Like seriously if I though the individual publisher sites were bad (Internet Co. srsly make it easier to buy things) Vocaloid.com's lineup section is even worse.

So with all of the above in mind I put together the Engloids.Info VOCALOID Shop BETA™ with the purpose of making English language Vocaloids easier to buy. While mostly functional, directing visitors to official retailers and when there are no official retailers an Amazon listing instead. Eventually I would like to expand it to be something more. Most of the default descriptions are quite useless ATM but I hope to expand on them in the future. Right now I am seeking assistance to help improve this section of the site, while it works as-is I feel it can be expanded to be much much better.

    I am looking for:

    • Copy Writers
Need help writing better/more detailed descriptions for each Vocaloid. The official companies aren't good at writing copy, and neither am I, thus I am seeking help.
    • Box Art Scans
Need scans of DVD cases from physical product owners so I can generate more HQ renders like I did for Oliver using the scan Koda-P did for me.
    • Voicebank Reviews
I would love to host reviews from a producer's perspective and hear the opinions what people who have used the voicebank has to say.
    • General Feedback
I would love to know what you think of this imitative. Do you like it? Do you think it is dumb? How should I proceed further? Should I quit now?

Beyond just the Vocaloid vocebanks I also wanted to pimp any producer that uses an English language Vocaloid, UTAU, or other similar synth and I added an "Albums" category that I hope to populate in the future. If anyone is a producer, has released an album, and it features any English language singthesis software and wants their album listed reply or contact me. I would love help to promote your work.
  4. .Moe Registry Operator to Host "Idoloid" Vocaloid & UTAU Contest

    Posted 8 Oct 2014

    Quote

Interlink Co., Ltd., the registry operator for the “.moe” gTLD generic top-level domain is hosting an “Idoloid” contest for UTAU & Vocaloid voicebanks. With a grand prize of 200,000 JPY (approx $1,850 USD) and five runner up prizes of 10,000 JPY (approx $90 USD) the contest challenges users to create music for Moe-tan the domain registry’s mascot.

Interlink has provided three sets of pre-written lyrics for entrants to write their music around with Lyric A being titled “0.2mm no kyoukaisen”, Lyric B as “dot moe”, and the shortest Lyric C being “rairuto nijito moerusekai”. An important thing of note is that all entries must be made with either a Vocaloid, UTAU, or other similar synthesizer vocal.

Though the grand prize will likely go to someone Japanese considering the amount of effort Interlink put into the English version of the contest page I expect at least a couple of the runnerup prizes to go to foreigners. If you are not entering for the money it might be worth it for the notoriety.
  5. Looking for Co-panelists for UTAU Panel @ Anime LA

    Posted 3 Oct 2014

I am looking for 1-2 co-panelists from the Los Angeles area to help me with an "UtaForum Presents:" panel at Anime Los Angeles 2015.

The concept for the panel is "We Made UTAU (And So Can You!)" and is planned to be a 90 minute Workshop with a 60 minute demonstration on how to make an UTAU along with an introduction and some time for Q&A. I plan on doing most of the heavy lifting, presenting/interacting with the crowd, etc. but I am looking for some co-panelists.

I would like an artist to help explain some aspects of character design, maybe interact with the crowd to make an original design? Beyond an artist I would like a person experienced with the software to help demo UTAU-Synth while I do the talking, and maybe helping me answer some technical questions some users may have.

Looking for people in the Los Angeles area. If you participate you will get free tickets to the con and while you are there you can probably hang out with myself, Koda-P, O.G., and other LA local UTAU & Vocaloid users/producers.
